To be meaningful for these states actual IM 240 results are needed. Many people myself included cannot afford to install a system that cannot pass local emissions testing.
The whole point of doing emissions testing is to do exactly that. It is actually going to roll on the emissions dyno and make sure it passes all the required emissions levels for testing. So basically we are going to make sure the car will pass the sniffer under all conditions and then as long as your state does not have a visual insepction you are good to go. If you have visual inspection like Cali then you just need to find someone who will run the car on the sniffer and look the other way as to where the cats are...

Yeah sorry...Mossy Performance has a Turbonetics kit installed on their 05 Z and have the cat downpipe I gave them. I am just waiting for them to roll it on the emissions dyno to get some numbers...

6MT, 5AT? How much boost? What type of dyno? What is the A/F like? Not enough info for us to provide an opinion...

^^Thats right on considering the slightly higher drivetrain loss and the dyno type.

Hey Miaplaya, how can you pass visual with this kit. I mean yeah it can pass the sniffer, but I don't understand how all of you FI guys do it. Especially here in so. ca. Also I heard that if you have a front mount visible, the po-po will pull you over. I know you can paint the IC black but the turbo is so obvious when you pop the hood.

You can't pass visual in cali with this kit. That's why my car is as stealth as possible.

Theres certain shops that look the other way. And as long as you don't have the front mount wide open in front of the car your chances of getting pulled over are only as high how stupid you drive..

Yup...that's why I installed my front plate & took off the "turbo" emblem I had at the back. It needs to be as stealth as possible & as Mia indicated just "driving smart".

If I wanted stealth Id run a grill that covered the FMIC besides the factory or paint the IC black....
