Isnt the ideal location as close as possible to where the header bolts up to the head? And then further away would logically be cooler. So if seeing around 1400 close to the cats, wouldnt you think it would be a little hotter closer to the head?
So what all does it mean if you are running really high EGTs?

400whp and 319 trq. [Mustang dyno ] Not what i expected . Got to think this AT5 is killing me . Boost leveled off at 13.5 at 6,300rpm > it did keep making power all the way to 6,900 rpm . Gained 50whp and 30 trq. over my last set up . We didnt try to get every last whp out of it . Kept it safe

Booger 400whp on a Mustang dyno is AWESOME. From my experience, they read VERY low compared to a dyno jet. Add about 17% so that so get a rough estimate of dynojet numbers. The numbers sound good to me!

Yeah im running all stock cats and exhaust right now. The cats are huge heatsinks so im not too worried about a higher crusing egt. I am installing stillen cat back exhaust in 2 weeks(got a great deal used) so i will see if that makes any difference. I also plan on crawford cats a little later on.
