Default Oil Leak Into The Top Of The Spark Plug???

I was under the hood this morning and I saw some oil around my #5 coil. I pulled the coil and the plug was almost submerged in oil. I then pulled my #3 coil, it was dry, but #1 was wet too. I am thinking this has to do with the PCV setup that ATI has prescribed. My installer did not hook up my PCV the way it says in the manual. They left the hose from the bottom plenum to the PCV valve. The hose from the driver's side valve cover was left open into the engine bay. It originally hooked up to the bottom of the intake tube. I found this and re-routed it like the ATI manual says. My question is, would any of this have anything to do with the oil leaking into my spark plug tunnels? It appears that there is a seal around the brass tunnels. Would excessive pressure in the crankcase blow these seals? My symptoms are only on the passenger side. I did pull my PCV valve to check it and it works as advertised.

Yep, happens alot with FI cars. I had to have my seals (gasket) replaced when I had my APS TT installed. Puddles of oil all over the tops of the plugs.

You are referring to the valve cover gaskets?? I developed a leak after S/C install on the drivers side which I suspect is from the valve covers.

It turns out my hose to my intake elbow was kinked. This is the hose for the PCV to discharge any blow-by gases from the crankcase. I am monitoring the oil leak and I hope that I don't have to change the gasket.

Yes, valve cover leak, around the seat of the spark plug tube caused by too much crankcase pressure.

Is there a fix, so this doesn't happen again?

You can try installing a catch can. Otherwise, you need to pull the valve cover and replace the gasket and those seals. It's a pain.

Sharif the catch can just goes between the tube that goes into the intake right? The breather hose?

Lets say I have the APS TT, and the breather hose is attached to the right turbo outlet that goes into the intercooler. I detach that hose, go into the can, then back into there correct?

Yes, but you also need to run new hoses from the rear of your driver side valve cover, and the front ventilation hose that runs to the lower plate on the plenum...passenger side. Essentially, you need to make sure all the breather lines are joined and routed to the catch can, and then yes, the "cleaned" air will reenter the intake stream. Hope that helps.

Call me if you want me to walk you through it.
