Need Split Second/R4 tuner in Southeast US
I need a tuner in the southeast that has experience tuning the Split Second/R4 software. I am willing to travel to neighboring states. Need to know if they can tune on the weekend as well. I have used two shops in the Atlanta area and due to some issues with both I need to find a new option.
Sharif? McDuck?
My current mods include:
Vortech Supercharger with Intercooler
Kinetix SSV Intake Manifold
Unorthodox Racing Pulley Set (crank pulley removed)
Stainless Steel DC Sports Headers
Crawford Cats
Stillen Exhaust
Especially interested with tuners that have experience with the Kinetix SSV Intake Manifold and a Vortech.
Thanks for any advice.

Why not go local to you with Z1 Motorsports. They seem to be competent tuners. They retuned mine after my Vortech and Kinetix IM install. They are in Villa Rica off I-20.
I didnt see that you used 2 tuners in ATL. Would you PM me with the name of the 2 tuners please so I know who NOT TO USE?? I have thought about going to GSC Motorsports in Charleston SC. I need to have someone figure out what my Vortech issues are.

After talking to LeMans350's last tuner on the phone for about 30 minutes . It sounds like there are other issue's going on with the car . He sounded like he knew his chit . He has a Dyno room [ climate controled ] and tunes top notch race cars . He told me he couldnt get the same results in 4 or 5 dyno runs and didnt make any tuning changes at all . That would tell me some thing else is going on and that will need to be addressed first . Phunk , Sharif , Rabbid ....what do you guys think ?

We've seen this many times before.
No changes to the tune...big changes on the dyno. It's one of the strange things with the R4 software.Zach, bring your car up to Charlotte, and CP Race will fix all of your issues. In addition to being really good with the R4 software, they are great troubleshooters. THey have tuned over a dozen SC'ed 350Z, just in the past 4 months, and McDucks's was a pretty nice example...421whp with a VERY conservative tune...and safe.

Nothing to clarify there is no problem with The SS box just some people deal a little more with Greddy $$$$$ but I'm not saying anything. These are all tools and well everybody uses them differently. I think the key here is to make sure who ever tunes your car knows the software and isn't just gonna try and get more money out of you because they preffer one over the other.
I think we have all shown the SS box to be more than able to handle what ever is thrown at it. It is a great tool and all inclusive no need to buy extra harness to do extra things it's right there. Different dyno's will show different things I don't care who they are made by. Even if you had the same Dyno's next to each other you readings will vary. Just as anything there is a TOLERANCE to be considered all companies have them.
I think sometimes Dyno numbers are taken to serious anyway. I personally am not concerned to much for the numbers just the curve. But that's just my 2
WHen I talked to Jeremy's tuner . He told me that the A/F was the problem . It wasnt staying the same from one dyno run to the next . He hadnt even made any changes to it . I asked if the boost was the same at the same rpm levels in every run [ belt slipping ] . He said that they were very close to each other . I asked if the fuel preasure was changing at all . He said that Jeremy didnt have a preasure gauge for that , so he didnt know .

1) Vortech says the test pipes are causing the problem which I highly doubt as many guys on here are running test pipes and getting a shitload more power than I. I'm ONLY getting around 335-340 HP with headers, TP, Injen dual exhaust and Kinetix SSV manifold. I have seen cars running close to 400HP. I am also ONLY seeing about 5 psi of boost on the stock pulley.
2) I am going to try to install a GReddy Type RS BOV tomorrow to see if maybe the Maxflow bypass valve is bad.
3) I am going to also install a Gates belt instead of the Gatorback belt or whatever the hell it is called.
I have had the complete system pressure tested so I dont think thats the problem. So I really dont know.

They are right you will loose boost pressure. You need to spring for the 9psi pulley and have your revlimiter raise. You willl see your 8psi back and with the extra rpm gain 1-1.5 psi. Supercharger is regulated by RPM can not keep up with the increase in air flow so it will always put out what ever cfm it is regulated to unless you help by allowing it to spool more.
Turbo will do this automatically increased flow means faster spool up will always maintain constant pressure that it is set at in some cases it will achieve more

5psi might be just about normal, since you have some pretty good free flowing mods. CP put that 12psi pulley on his car, but his cams, headers, exhuast, etc, we saw 9.5psi at 6600rpm...building power and boost all the way to redline.
You might try stepping up the one step smaller pulley prior to retuning.

It's not so much a problem with the software, but more a problem of isolating different issues that can be causing the changes. For instance, fuel pressure variations, and the like. Also, with over 100psi of fuel pressure in the lines, it becomes more challenging to fine tune via MAF correction.....there is just too much pressure overwhelming the system.
I guess the thing that seperates CP/FI.com from some of the tuners, is the load based dyno we use datalogs EVERYTHING, and we run two laptops, and another scan tool, to make sure we cover all the bases. IMHO, its not enough to just spin it up and watch the A/F ratio.
