magazine don't lies about numbers, especially big name like turbo mag.there're lot of steps to take before words can be print so mostlikely it not a misprint.one way to find out is call SP engineering to confirm.

is it possible that the car did ran 16psi but somewhere in between flywheel to the tires it lost some power? due to transmission, clutch slipping?

also,if it a 5AT then the number will be lower compare to 6MT at the same 16psi.

I'm going to pick up the magazine, seems like this would pertain to what I am going to try to do. If 465rwhp is indeed being done on 16psi with no airflow upgrades...cams would net around 20-40rwhp, test pipes would net around 20-30rwhp, exhaust would net around 10-15rwhp, and upgraded plenum would net around 15-20rwhp...you'd easily be over 500rwhp and probably close to 530rwhp.

I'm telling you, I believe with great tuning and plenty of airflow mods...ran on relatively low PSI....it is possible to make 550rwhp on this motor before reaching an upgrade limit where you would need to go to upgraded internals to allow for more PSI to be ran safely. And I bet it would be even more easily achievable with a more advance EMS such as a standalone or EU.
Do you really think you can run 550rwhp without upgrading the internals? For what period of time? 1 dyno run? I know there was a guy at GRD I think who was pushing 500+hp on stock internals to see what it could do, but I don't recall if the motor ever blew or not or if its still going strong.

Correction, the nissan 350z is actually making 425rwhp @ 7 psi, 104 octane. 400 rwhp @ 6.5 psi , 91 octane. Typo on that article, thank you very much.

If you guys are still curious about the numbers, please pickup a copy of D-SPORT jun'04. It's the very exact same car, just with a heavy make over.

Yes. For a few months hopefully. Tuan@GRD is at 505rwhp with APS TT @ 11psi with APS exhaust and test pipes. If you add cams and a plenum, that's around 20rwhp at least. It's still running strong, over 5,000 miles, I believe. I'd have to look on motoring to get a more exact number.

Keep in mind that I will have a shortblock ready to install before I even attempt this.

Lol, talk about hitting the go-fast crack pipe I thought the stock rods would just up and snap once you started hitting 450+rwhp. I can't believe the GRD car is still going, that is amazing. Does he daily drive it?

16psi is about 4-8psi off of the maximum efficiency range though.
Correct me if Im wrong but lbs/minute does NOT equate to lbs/in^2. The vertical part of a compressor map has the psi/bar shown, while the horizontal shows the amount of air flowing (in either CFM or lbs/min).

I think thats how its supposed to be. . .
