Default Bidding a fond farewell to FI

I just wanted to thank everyone in the forum for the advice, the help and the arguments over the past 2 years. It's been quite a bit of fun.

As the title inplies I am no longer FI, in fact I am no longer with the Z. I traded it in on a 2004 Black SRT-10, 4k miles, lowered, borla exhaust and 3.73 rear.

I like this forum and will still probably stop by from time to time.

Best of luck to all.

Adam

Congrats on the new toy. Can you say Hennesey TT? Good luck with the new truck and I compliment you on your choice.

Thanks guys, sorry for any confusion but I got the Viper, not the truck.

The hennessy TT is pretty incredible, but John Hennessy actually has a very bad reputation in the Viper community, was taken to court multiple times and took more than a few customers for a ride. There are documented cases of him not doing the work he was paid to do, including not putting in forged internals when he was paid to do so, resulting in blown engines. In fact on the forum sponsored by the Viper Club of America you cannot even post his name. They have it blocked - you have to type h e nn e ssy or something to that effect.

I think the 500+hp I will have will keep me for a while. In the Viper world, the real trusted names are Sean Roe (supercharging) and Jason Heffner (Turbo).

Yeah anytime you say SRT10 most people think the truck. I almost put a deposit on a Viper when I decided to go nuts on my G35. I love the way the Viper rides. It commands instant respect(car wise that is) and you gotta love that. Enjoy the toy and tell us your impressions after awhile.

also, if you don't mind how about some $ figures on the trade? I've considered your exact move several times.

I knew I was going to get screwed on the trade in, so I just closed my eyes and took it like a man. They gave me 30K even. My car was a loaded 2004 ZR with Nav, the stillen and only 4500 miles.

When you figure taxes, take an extra 2500 by using trade in, it isn't all that bad.

WOW! That takes *****! Personally, I'd strangle someone if they pulled that **** on me. It makes me sick how many a-holes are out there.

Oh, and congrats on the new car! I would have done the same if I were in your shoes.

Right on Adam, congrats! And you found the black too! Much nicer than the red IMO. Wow, they got the S/C in the trade...

Wish I was local to go for a ride!

just reading today in "The Robb Report"...(rich person magazine, makes me feel like a high roller looking at 118k dollar watches and island resorts that you have to buy in 250k just to visit....)

anyway...add in there for a shop that makes the fastest twin turbo viper around (claimed)
1200hp (guessing wheel)...if u go F/I with the Viper, please go twin turbo, not supercharger

Netko, I almost led off with a korporashun joke and a my twin brother's Viper comment. I should have gone that way, unfortunately I put myself through 10 years of higher education (luckily the DOD paid for the last 6).

My wife went out of town for the week, and when she gets back there is going to be a new car in the garage (that is the ballsy part!). She knows about it, but doesn't really know what a viper is, I sent her a picture.

Her only comment was "It better not be really loud," to which I told her, it is no louder than the Z. Yeah, a Viper with a borla exhaust is going to be no louder than a Z with the stock exhaust, what a load that was.

I really don't have any parting words, I love the Z. It is a great platform stock or boosted. Bang for the buck, there is nothing out there that can hang with it and if I had put the money into the Z that I spent on the Viper, the Z would probably be a faster car and handle almost as well.

I just wanted my boyhood dream car, lambos and ferraris have nothing on the viper for me. I actually went to look at a 2002 GTS, and they happened to have a 2004 on the lot. I test drove both, and after a head to head comparison the 2004 just drove so much better. It is really easy to drive, you can inch up with the clutch just as easily as you can drop the hammer. Learning not to spin the tires in first and second is going to take some time.

By the way, if you see this in your rear view mirror, don't race it. It is the Heffner Twin Turbo with over 1000 hp.
