twin Pump fuel systems
#2
i'm running the stock pump with no mods at all then an inline walbro255. did a return fuel system also, no problems at all as of yet. each pump will still flow through the other too incase there was a failure with one pump, i could still make it home.

i was wondering about twin intank walbro255's
I need to get enough fuel for say 1200bhp just to be on the safe side. One option i have seen is to run an inline with the walbro, but i had rememberd that CJ motorsports said that they were going to come out with a twin intake setup eventually and i know SSR has mentioned it too.

meatbag, there are a few companies working on the twin Walbro 255 setup. With few street cars, if any...running 700whp plus, the need for twin pumps is limited. The single Walbro 255 can push a very large volume of fuel, and maintain stable pressure. I havent seen the limits of it yet...only time will tell.
For a 1000whp fuel setup, a twin pump, or fuel cell solution, with massive Aeromotive external pump is an option. Just keep in mind that a twin Walbro doesnt mean you double your fuel delivery...its more like 1.5X at best. So if we make the assumption, that the Walbro starts to max out at 600whp, a twin setup will be good for about 900whp.
There are some disadvantages to twin fuel pump setups, as well. What will you be using this car for?

It still a daily driver for now, but over time it will become a race only vehicle. Ive been looking into useing the aeromotive pumps and fuel cells but was seeing if twin walbro's was an option or not.

Gotcha. The main reason people use twin pump systems, is to keep the stock fuel pump assembly and tank without modifications. I will ask my suppliers for an update on their twin pump carriers.

The CJM development of a twin pump fuel system is currently at a halt. Once the test vehicle is back up and running, the process can continue. I am not willing to release a twin pump upgrade for the CJM fuel system until I have done adequate testing on a vehicle that actually requires the 2 pumps. Things are looking good to possibly finish it before the end of the year... But, no promises. There are too many other developments simultaneously going on with the car.
