Default 3.12 dyno today

Got the 3.12 pulley and gates belt today. The base line with the 3.33 was 365 hp and the 3.12 put down 391. I was looking at the a/f print out, they do it on a print out, not on the bottom of the dyno, and it was 10.8 to 11.2 across the board. They didnt have time too much tuning tonight, but im gonna wait till i get the plenum next to see if it leans it out as others have stated. You really notice the boost increase across the rpm band.

Question Vortech?

Freeze - Sorry but I haven't kept up with your installation ( a little thing called Hurricane Katrina has kept me distracted ). R U speaking of the Vortech pulley & which IM? I'm about to do install my Vortech & I have both the Crawford ( currently on the G ) & also the Kinetix SSV. I plan on having John Isbell ( my installer ) use both IM's & see which one yields the most power/usable powerband.
BTW - what R your torque numbers?

What were the Tq #'s.. I am planning the 3.12 install next week and Dyno retune. Was the belt on fairly tight for the pre #'s? Nice increase. You will pick up much more with a A/F between 11-12..BTW if you are installing the SSV you will have the only true before and after Dyno comparison #'s assuming your first run is at the same A/F ratio which gave you 391...

my car will be going to CP Racing next week for the 3.12 pulley install and retune. I also have the Kinetix SSV IM. I previously dynoed at 2 different places and got 2 totally different numbers, so I dont know exactly how much HP/TQ I have. CP Racing said they will do a before dyno pull just to see how everything is. Then they are doing the pulley and a retune. So I will be able to have 3.33 vs 3.12 pulley numbers next Sunday. If I remember, I will post them up here.

Well im at a loss on the torque. on the printout i get max 391 hp at 5800 hitting 8.6 psi. I max out at 8.9 psi. On the torque 362 at 5000 rpm. I think 391 hp for the pulley and full cat back exhaust is realistic, but i dont think anyone is hitting much over 300lbs torque. Dunno, just happy i got the basline done and pulley installed and running well (little rich)

belt for pre numbers was cranked on, it was the stock gatorback pos. That gates belt is sure thicker Im going to order the cast crawford next then hi flow cats. Just worried about it being too lound with the stillen.

The Dyno measures Tq and Hp is derived from it..362 Tq, if accurate would be unbelievable for a S/C.. Hope to come close to that next week with a 3.12

That trq. number must be a mistake . Besides , you never know how much was tacked on to get the big , inflated , Dyno Jet numbers ...12% , 13% , 15% , 17% . Why does every one still use Dyno Jet # as a standard when they are inflated ? Because it makes them feel all fuzzy inside .

I just got 388rwhp and 331rwtq on the dyno dynamics dyno at CP Racing about 10 days ago. I too have the 3.12 pulley and a bunch of useful Crawford mods on a slightly heavier G35 Coupe 6MT.

Too bad dyno dynamics doesn't have a free winpep7 S/W program like the dyno jet dynos have. Comparing some of the "areas under the curve" would be really fun!

I totally agree about the trq number. I really dont care about numbers, just difference between mods on the same dyno. I gained 26 rwhp with the pulley swap. Seems realistic.

What pulley size swap and what was the Tq # delta? Also what kind of Dyno?
