Default Possible blown S/C seal?

Greetings, Had a puddle of oil about 6 inches in diameter under the car this morning. Opened the hood to find oil sprayed around the S/C, on the hood etc...

Wondering if I'm risking engine damage by driving to the shop??? i.e. oil getting into the intake.

I'm at work and didn't have time to look around any more than the quick look under the hood.

Your thoughts?

Thanks.

Check your oil dip stick to see if its tightly in the hole . I had oil squirt out of mine once , on a hard pull . Sprayed every where . A bad seal..I think would just suck oil into the SC and into the intake and not spray every where . Another way to check is to take apart the intercooler pipe , right before the BOV and stick your finger in the ppipe to see if there is oil in it .

Thanks. I did look at the dipstick quickly and it didn't appear to be coming from there.

I thought I'd check the oil line to the S/C as well but won't be able to do that until later. Would pressure be high enough to spray out of that line?

ok, I'm home and had a chance to look the car over and... The oil is coming out of the crank case breather hose that normally attaches to the air filter.

So, either a S/C seal or excess blow-by from the rings...?

Checked the plugs for oil, all looked fine. #2 had a very small amount but that is it.

you should get a oil catch can, see if it continues to happen. You can find them on www.hopupracing.com I think it is good insurance for the <100 price tag.
