MAF Replacement
I saw a thread about a week ago dealing talking about a MAF replacement...
It got me thinking about it, and I'd really prefer to tune with MAF over MAP. Since our summers can hit over 100 and our winters are in the 40s there is going to be quite a difference in the engine tuning by MAP. (I'll be lean in the winter and rich in the summer if I tune by MAP.)
Maybe I'm making a big deal about nothing, and tuning with MAP will be adaqute, but it seems to me a system that takes into account air density, humidity, and tempature would be a lot safer as well as more reliable for tuning...
Add some water inection before the MAF and your computer would know, and you would be hitting a differnt point on your map almost instantly!!! Not with MAP...
JWT has a pdf out on how to shoe horn in a Mustang MAF onto Nissans, and the EU would be used to tune the thing... Is this type of replacement going to be worth the effort, or is there not going to be that big of an A/F difference from summer to winter???

I've been thinking about this for a few minutes now...
If I just put my faith into the EU A/F target MAP it would accomplish nearly the same thing...
I say nearly because it would take into account charge density, but it wouldn't take into account humidity or tempature... However they have an Intake Temp adjustment, I just wonder if the two could be used in conjuction to overcome the limits of the stock MAF.
*puts on his thinking cap*
I wonder if heat soak is an issue on the Intake Temp?
It would be a lot cleaner to just use a new MAF.
