615whp... On Pump Gas!!
Tim...congradulations...so glad things finally worked out for you!!!
hey, can you share your timing stradegy? how much of a timing advance are u running at 4500rpm? 5000? 5500? 6000? 6500? to redline?
please share- want to get an idea of what u are doing on pump gas
be careful!!!!

very impressive with pump gas. it takes skills to do that with pump gas rather than race gas. the power of a standalone + a excellent tuner = amazing results
btw the open dump tube wouldn't make power because they're releasing the exhaust gases faster but rather it is not causing turbulence in the downpipe, disrupting flow. It's especially bad in these aftermarket turbo kits where the wastegates dumps the exhaust gas at a 90 degree angle right up next to the turbo causing major turbulence
If you must have a close loop wastegate setup, you must route the dumps at least 18" down from the turbo for little to no horsepower loss.

Most of the exhuast is going to come out of the dumptubes...so the effect is just like an open exhuast...very IMPRESSIVE. I think its time for an upgrade.
Congrats, and go out and enjoy the car.
It was getting a lit bit loney in the 600whp club....glad you could join!

The Unichip does not currently allow 2 boost settings that I know of. Sorry APS owners. I think APS is working on a way to switch between 2 boost maps though.
The run was in 5th gear. SGP says that most tune in 4th gear, but can have problems later in the tune for 5th and 6th. Tuning in 5th eliminates this problem but provides a lower dyno number.
Todd, SGP likes to keep their tuning secrets... seicret. It helps them to keep their stock price valuable. I can say that they tune timing aggressively similar to the way phunk tunes his timing map. The HKS Knock Amp allows you to tune to knock threshold more accurately than other EMS units.
I know why the open wastegates make power, but I am sure others learned from your post. I should've specified how they make poewer in my post.

I figured it was 5th, since the run was pretty long. With a load based dyno, there should be little difference in power numbers between the gears. On the DynoDynamics dyno we use, the difference in power between 4th and 5th is basically sampling error...nothing meaningful.
Yeah, I doubt Mark or anyone one else for that matter, will give away the precise nature of how the timing was adjusted.
That is the tuner's secret, as everyone has their own strategy.

nah i was reading through the pages and saw somebody write it would make more power because the exhaust gases would come out faster which isn't the reason why it would make more power.. it's the other reason i put.. sorry for the confusion

Sounds good, Mark. I may be bringing my Z to you in the next 3-4 of months for FCON and tuning.
Oh and I think we may have that lost clutch issue worked out with the shipper, I'll be sure to let you know what happens.

Hopefully we will be back in store on Monday....I will try to keep everyone informed while I am on the road....Right now it has taken me 1 hour to get 12 miles home... This sucks...

This is great news. I am eagerly awaiting your products. Keep up the good work. Something tells me the cooling system will be changed to an open style with a breather tank!

SGP has 15 new ITEMS coming for the 350 & G35's.... I will post some info ASAP...We are really busy right now & now are trying to get ready for the Hurricane heading our way....
