Paranormal, you are so right! Good honest shops are hard to come across, and I have been jacked with labor charge before as well.
Now I will just start doing install myself, and with help from peers who love working on cars. More benefit to me too.

 

Yes I agree. This is why I do ALL my work myself. I got tired of all the BS. I just didnt want to mess with the cams myself. So I had to source them out. Its just my luck that the one thing I source out bites me in the ****! This was just a reminder of why I do all my own work. Now that my car is almost done Ive found one shop that is straight up with me, Z car garage. Doesnt that figure! But atleast now when I get my tune Ill know its in great hands!
The crazy part is I posted this thread to warn others about this kind of shop and what to watch out for. Well wouldnt you know a member on this site went to the same shop and had the SAME thing happen to him. About what? CAMS!!! He doesnt want to tell his story so Ill leave his screen name out. I will say it again and until Im blue in the face. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!

 

www.bbb.org report there *** to the better business bureau, im sure they'll love dealing with that. Just go to the website and put in there info or there website to pull up filed cases, plus you can file one yourself. If i get quoted 1300.00, im gonna pay 1300.00, not my fault someone messed up on price. Thats there loss, especially if they already did your motor. They knew they messed up, thats why they offered free tuning. Now that they see its on the boards i wouldnt have them tune it.
