Default Other Greddy Turbo Kit Upgrades?

I was always wanting to get an APS Twin Turbo because I have not heard any blown motors from them like the Greddy. But if I bought a Z with a Greddy TT Kit already installed what other things would I have to modify just for not blowing the engine(400-500rwhp). I just want enough so the engine doesnt blow. Would just pistons be fine or rods or what? Thanks so much!

They are several people running the greddy between 400-480whp on stock motors. In order to run that kit safe at those power levels you will need the following:

1. A good tune.
2. AAM OR CJM fuel return solution
3. Walboro 255 fuel pump
4. BOV
5. timing harness and map pressure sensor harness for tuning
6. Shielded CAS wire (Some will say it is not necessary, but for $75 it can't hurt)

According to this it has 500hp at the flywheel which is about 430whp. A bunch of people have been running at that level for a while on stock motors. He looks like he has all the extra needed except for the fuel return solution and the shielded CAS wire.

He is running the technosquare greddy tt flash and so far I have never heard of anyone that went this route for tuning with the greddy kit blow their motor. If I were you I would get a compression check and have someone look the car over just in case. Other than that the car look and sound like it is a good shape.

I agree with what Gman said.

Return Fuel System
Shielded Crankshaft and Camshaft Angle Sensor wire (CAS)

...would be all that needs to be done to make this reliable. Of course, you'll need to get the ECU reflashed again for the fuel system though, is it will most likely have a higher fuel pressure at different points on the maps than before.

Also as he said, get a compression test. I would also get a leakdown test. Will you be flying to test drive it? If not, I would pay a shop (that he has never visited) to do all of that work, plus check the electrics/mechanical (windows up/down, door shut/open, hatch open/close, etc.), and do a drive to check to see how it sounds (if you feel comfortable with them doing that, otherwise just get them to start it up and maybe drive around the parking lot).

By the way, if you need to know where to get these parts, I can help you.

I don't know of many 350z's that run the greddy kit without the intercooler ....especially with that power output.

Around $500-$800 for open container. Around $1000-$2000 for closed container.

And yes, it does. The GReddy really shouldn't even be sold without a FMIC, this is what we stand by. BTW, always look in the lower part of the front bumper, that's where most (if not all) FMICs are located.
