I gained about ~60HP (peak) and ~60 TQ when I upgraded from stock to Stage 2. I don't know this for a fact, but I have heard from two different shops (including the one that did my install) that aftermarket exhaust can actually reduce the gains you see from the Stillen SC, since it reduces back pressure which evidently can cause a loss of boost. Again, not sure if this is accurate info., but it may be worth a call to Stillen before spending the $.

I know that is why headers make you lose power, and its true that it MAY be so for exhaust, but I would doubt it... I would just find it hard to believe that stillen wouldnt at LEAST design their exhaust to make some power. Basically, I'm pretty sure you can make a LITTLE bit of extra power with an exhaust, but I couldnt begin to tell you which ones outside of the most likely being stillen's own.

This I will be able to answer too. We have a prototype true dual exhaust (2x2.5") on our test car. We will try to dyno on wednesday with this exhaust and later with OEM exhaust too.

The backpressure argument I do not quite understand however. Less boost due to less backpressure? Please someone explain.

a roots type s/c has to have a certain amount of back pressure to create higher boost levels in the low to mid.cent and turbos like much less back pressure.

Spoke to Stillen, bought and installed thier TD exhaust and RT CATS. They did states that headers would affect the performance of the supercharger.

Default Stillen Stage 2 Ordered

Ordered the Stillen Stage 2 yesterday. The cost is still hard to swallow but it is time to become part of the crowd. I choose the Stillen because I have 5AT and the warranty. The car is new on drove it seven months been deployed the rest and it is my daily driver for now. I still have goals of reach but I will do it with a used Z with a built bock and use it just for racing enjoyment. So VRT I have given up just post-poned for now.

I am leaving this project up to my wife. If you want to know how hard a military spouse works, the final project will prove itself. when I come home I just want to get in and drive and not wait on parts or working the bugs issue. Still have brakes, suspension, to get but I want to see how the car feels before I add more toys. Trying to save for the bigger project. Well hopefully things will be finished by the end of the month and I can post pics.

Did not mean to stll a thread, it just di not make since starting a new Stillen installation. If anyone has any good links on BBKS or Suspension I would appreciate it, I am limited on time to do a through research. Thanks for all the help in making my final decision.

Guys, I was curious and hooked up a boost gauge to see what boost the Stillen S/C actualy makes. I was a little surprised to see that upon WOT input from cruise the manifold pressure will instantly go from vacuum to ~0,2bar (3 psi) and then slowly raise to ~0,4 bar (6 psi) with the engine rpm climbing. Has anyone else monitored boost and can comment?

it does how much boost at what rpm to what boost at what rpm? - whats the range of boost from 1000-6600 rpms?

does the stillen make 3psi at 1000 and then rises at 6 or 7 psi to redline - is that true?

Not the install
Hood, Strut Bar, Oil cooler, Thermostat, spark plugs, engine damper. I think that is it. Debating whether I should get the sway bar. bought it all from stillen.

Oh okay... well most of that is non-essential to the sc install. I didnt have the strut bar until a few months ago. I dont have an oil cooler, thermostat, engine damper or different spark plugs.

I will probably buy a thermostat when I go stage 4 eventually.

Everything we add to a stock vehicle is non essential. Just that we always have to tendency to think we have to have it. Once I break my car in the Stage 2 and move up I wont have to add these products. You are right in a way but it is all a personal choice. some would of added brakes or done thier suspension before adding FI. I am new to this FI and I am no spring HEN, so I am sure I will find another hobby soon.

OK, we have some numbers!

We measure in DIN-PS over here in Germany (conversion factor is x0.986 for SAE horsepower). Engine power is up to 360 PS, rear wheel power is 280 PS (stock was 210 PS) and torque is 440 Nm (325 ft/lb). The great thing is that we have over 400 Nm torque for a wide rpm window of 1800-6400 rpm.
