HP from headers on Supercharged Z?
HP from headers on Supercharged Z? How much whp gain should I except from headers and possibly test pipes on my Procharged 350z that put down 369.9 rwhp now? Also, how long does it take to install headers on a 350z? Thanks
If your running the stock exhaust and cats now . I would guess there is a good gain avaliable . But your car will not be quiet and it will have rasp with both headers and test pipes . Guessing 20whp to 40whp

That's what I was thinking, but I'm no machanic/tuner guy by any means. However, I will be doing the grand mod session to my Z in Dec/Jan and I thought about headers/exhaust/HFC's/plenum/etc. all the breathing stuff. I'm still not sure how that will work out. I guess I'll do some more research on here and ask the guys that will be doing the work.
Sorry to do ye' ol' hijack also.
I've heard that headers used with a Supercharger actully loses power. It's true that more air pumped in equals to more air being pumped out which is an increase in air flow, but most companies that make superchargers usually design their units to be a direct bolt on for stock OEM vehicles. Supercharger unit like these usually have tunning parameters that are limited to their specific function. I would think that a more specific re-flash that re-tunes your ECU for additional mods and a supercharger would solve the problem. But i'm no expert, so your assesment is as good as mine.

I just installed my Topspeed headers a couple of weekends ago. Here are my thoughts, so far:
1. Rasp- My exhaust note is louder and I do get rasp whenever I am placing a load on the engine. I have test pipes and I am getting some Crawford cats to hopefully get rid of it.
2. Power- I do feel an increase in power with the butt dyno, not drastic, though.
3. Install- It is a pain to install these on your own, that is why I had Performance Nissan do it for me. They had it done in about 5 hours, cost was $375.
4. Boost- Prior to the install I was hitting 10.5 psi max, after I was hitting 10.2 psi. I am now hitting 11.0 psi after I installed a BOV in place of my bypass valve.
5. Heat-I had the headers coated inside and out and I wrapped them with header wrap. I have not noticed an increase in engine compartment heat.
These are just my observations and your results may vary.

remember, your system needs to be tuned after you install headers. headers will lean out your a/f ratio which means more power. to keep it safe, you need to add fuel and pull timing. anybody who says they put headers on there SC and lost power, did something wrong.
im a broken record: you system must be tuned following breathing mods (in all cases, not just FI)
