Should I be disappointed by the Procharger?
Well this weekend, finally got the car tuned. Made 341whp and 302tq. Now keep in mind everything is stock(stock headers, y-pipe, exhaust, stock everything except procharger). I raced a friends 05 EVO with bolts on. Claims to put down anywhere from 310-320whp. We ran from a couple 40mph rolls and we were pretty damn close, but id have to say that he probably creeped on me ever so slowly.
Same outcome on 3 different runs. On the last run, we ran from 40 again, but this time i took the rpms a little further, i basically shifted after he had shifted, and that definitely helped me out a lot. I had him by about .5-3/4 carlength and it stuck that way all the way until i got into 5th where i shortly let off. Now keep in mind i had 19" ADR M-sports. I wonder if that played a factor in why he actually kept up with me the way he did. How much do bigger wheels slow you down, 1/4 mile wise and trap speed wise? Not to mention those wheels weigh over 30lbs a piece, lol. I would like to stick some DR's on the stock 17's and run him again, but what DR's do most of ya'll recommend. Can someone fill me in, thanks.

btw, I'm pretty sure you already know it, but S/C's make the most power close to redline, so to get the most out of you're S/C you would have to shift almost at redline. Thats probably why you beat him the last race, when you shifted at higher RPMS.
I wouldn't be disappointed. Those evo's are fast stock...but when you put just bolt-ons on it, there be faster. They respond to bolt ons better then our cars do. Just get a free flowing exhaust and you'll see a difference. Btw, nice numbers with the supercharger...! Take it easy and good luck.

Yeah I would love to get an exhaust, but money is a little short at the time. But from what ive heard was that the procharger kit was built for the stock car. My friend David said that even though i cant afford an exhaust, that i should at least pick up some test pipes. What do you think about test pipes and how hard was it to install? Also, what do you think if i were to strap on my stock 17's and some DR's, how much of a difference could that make?
I'm sorry, but I cannot converse with a possible scammer about his car. What do you have to say about this?

Look at post #6, jackass.
I bought an eBay special y-pipe over a year ago. Still looks & works great. I also gutted my secondary cats. Two pretty cheap ways to improve flow. I also have the iso-spacer thingy. Don't know how much of a difference it makes with a supercharger but it definitly makes the plenum cooler.
Skip the test pipes. I had 'em & they sounded horrible to me. Buy the y-pipe.($200)
I'll bet the rims are hurting you some too. I've kept my stock rims, mainly because I really like them. I'm about to get the rears widened to 10in, within the next month or two. This will help with the grip, while keeping the stock look.
40mph is the money speed for racing our cars. I drop it into second gear & bang, off I go. And ya, those EVO's are fasssst. With practice I've been able to get my auto shift down perfect, before I hit the rev-limiter. It also puts the RPM in the next gear a little higher & keeps the power coming. Tons of power up top. Good luck.
