ibsrocket,
I live in vero beach, too. I didn't think there are many Gor Z enthusiasts here.
Just last week, I ran into a guy named "mike" w/ a TT G35 that makes over 600 rwhp He lives in Vero, too.

Yup. That's the one. He was having some troubles with it at the track. What a clean car, though!!!!

Sorry to hear about that. How did it happen?
Look at the bright side, you are getting a brand new 06.

just started up a customers car with vortech today. With the cog belt on the looser side, it sounds the same with the inconsistent rattling sound. With the cog belt tight, the rattling almost dissappears but the whine gets LOUD...
This has got to be completely normal... because there are more people that have this sound, and very few people say that theirs is not making all that noise. If the sound is not supposed to be there, then they must have very poor quality control.

Honestly, this blower sounds normal. I've heard some that wine like crazy, and others will rattled. But personally, I wouldn't spend any additional labor money to solve the issue. Maybe raise the idle, and have some fun with the car!!

Sharif and Phunk are right . Its a normal sound . All you can do is just play with the cog belt tention to see you can lessen the noise . Also to be safe , check the oil sprayer to see if its open and the oil feed line isnt kinked

I just put my vortech on this past weekend. I too have this problem and would like a cure. I am going to trace all the lines and make sure nothing is kinked.
However, i seriously think that this G that someone posted sounds 100x better than my car. I rather have whine than rocks in my engine.

When I get my car back from the shop hopefully soon I'll see if I can bring out a microphone out to the car and record the idle (don't have a video camera)
I really don't think my car sounds like there's rocks in it at all. Anyone with an aftermarket clutch knows what clutch rattle sounds like and that's really the only rattle I hear on my car - is from my clutch and even that's pretty low volume cause my idle is close to 1000 rpms

It sounds like people are not doing their research prior to going F/I. People should search for the problems(normal sounds in this case) that a particular F/I kit possesses before they drop the cash on it.

yeah there's so many videos out there for each kit. There must be like 10 pretty good vortech videos out there at least that show it at idle, driving by, highway, on the dyno, reving, from behind the wheel, misc idle rattling sounds people are troubleshooting etc

I had this when I had the vortech and it absolutely pissed me off.
