Default TOTAL cost of vortech

Okay so I'm looking for a number that covers EVERYTHING I will need to have my Z supercharged. I'm talking about kit price, (install will be DIY so ignore that), and other parts that I might need like fuel pump, injectors, and i dont even know what else. Can someone give me a complete rundown? Thanks.

The vortech kits comes with everything you need to run it out of the box. It cost about $4300. You could buy extra parts, like a fuel return, fuel pump, and larger injectors to ditch the FMU that comes with the kit, but it is not needed. I recommend you look into the Turbonetics ST. It costs about the same and is more upgradeable if you want more power.

the only additional cost you should be looking at our supplemental mods like exhuast, test pipes, gauges.

As Gmann says the kit is inclusive. Install and drive, however if you want a little more margin of safety then you might consider: larger injectors 440cc (approx $400.0) walbro fuel pump (approx $150.0), gages ( fuel, boost, $350.0 depending on what style you like) and most importantly since the kit is rich in A/F a dyno is highly recommended about $450.0 and you'll also pick up additional power..Also, for some additional power either a manifold plenum spacer or new plenum before the dyno..( $250.0- $400.0)

I would NOT do it that way. The SC drain is designed to be above the oil in the pan. The spacer places it below the oil level in the pan.

what would be the harm in having the drain under the oil in the pan. Sure there would be some oil always in the drain line, but the oil would flow out of the drain line fine i believe. It's been long since i've taken any sort of chem class but wouldn't the oil level just find some equilibrium so there is only oil a small way up the drain line?

I have never found any definitive answer on eway or the other. My feeling is the longer the oil is in the SC, the more likely it is to burn. Considering the consequences, I will stick with the Vortech design.

Bought it last x-mas (on sale) from Avalon Racing for $4,000.0.. I find it to be very safe..Would recommend it for nice kick *** performance..However as many have previously stated you get use to the performance pretty quickly and you might just might look for more and that's where the "should of got a Turbo" instead argument comes into play.. Frankly, I find the performance well above what I had hoped to achieve and at times wonder why do folks want more when you consider engine reliability and driver safety...Now if you plan on making it into a race car no doubt a TT or T is the way to go..

jpc350z-------i agree completely with you about

"However as many have previously stated you get use to the performance pretty quickly and you might just might look for more and that's where the "should of got a Turbo" instead argument comes into play..

What reminds you that you dont need a TT is when you race a Vette or M5 and pull on them.... that straightens you out real quick and you feel you dont need that TT anymore
