Default who needs forged internals?

new record today, driving down the interstate doing about 80 in 6th gear just minding my own business when a new mustang flies by, so i downshift and floor it, within 3 seconds i hit 18.6psi on the old zeitronix boost gauge , so....i let off. car survived once again. i hope that actuator gets here soon.

At least you're probably running 93+ octane... if I tried that sh*t out here in Cali on 91 I'd go bye-bye at 15.

paranormal, my boost gauge should be dead on, vac at idle is 20-21, i have my wastegate completely shut. im waiting on an upgraded actuator. it would hit 35+psi if i stayed in it.

Think this is related to changes in your local fuel(winter blends or whatever)? What are the temps like where you are?

nah, i just have my wastegate wired shut, so there is essentially no boost controller, the turbo uses all the exhaust gases.

I asked about fuel changes because I have noted a rash of threads related to boost spike. I myself noted spikes(9lbs standard) in the last tank of gas I bought before I put my Z down for the winter.

Check out the below thread.....would appreciate some input

Actually I had an issue where my boost gauge malfunctioned and was showing 15psi. Every time I hit the throttle it would swing to max immediately, even if I was barely revving. It was obvious by the way the car felt and how fast the needle was moving that it had to be the gauge. All I had to do was shut off the car and start it again and it was fixed. This has happened two times in the last 6 months or so, other than that my boost gauge works perfect.

Oh, and it's an autometer electronic boost gauge.

So is the car tuned consistently at this boost level? How much power are you making?

dynod today, 999.99 rwhp. aw, just shy of 1000, nah jk!

i dont think the engine would survive a dyno at that boost level. as far as being tuned at that level, im not sure, i sent the unichip back a while back for a tune, but i remember him saying that the control shuts off around 12-13 psi, but im not sure what that means. my afr at 18.6 is still showing as 10.0 on the zeitronix wideband. it nevers goes below 10.
