Question Turbonetics installers Georgia?

Is there anywhere in Georgia, folks would recommend having Turbonetics installed?

Your BEST BEST BEST choice is going to be to drive a few hours north and have the work done by ForgedInternals.com and CP Racing. I believe Sharif@forgedinternals is one of the top tuners of the VQ35DE in the country and CP Racing is VERY familiar with this kit....give 'em a call.

+1 for CP Racing. I made the 8 hour trip from FL to CP Racing in Charlotte as well. They did an excellent job on my TN kit. It was well worth the drive. Eric @ CP tunes cars too. He is their in house tuner. While I didn't get a tune from them I hear he is excellent.

One MEEEELLLION dollars. Just kidding.

Seriously, the best thing to do is to give them a call and get a quote. Your qoute will depend on what gauges/sensors you are getting installed and other accessories, etc., so your qoute may differ considerably from what others have paid.

Lol, I just have one milleeeeon dollars, kewl. I sent them an email, I am having the boost gauge, egt, and uego wideband a/f installed as well as a jwt/flywheel clutch combo (although this will be replaced with the tranny, ouch). He said around 1850 or so, I can get it done at z1motorsports for 1300 with dyno tuning and they have recently tuned a 350z with the turbonetics to 455 whp and 522 wtq. I also have some mechanics that I graduated with and was considering letting them do it. Need advice something fierce!!!!

Advice..... to achieve 455 whp you will need more than just the TN kit. You will need a return fuel system, larger injectors, and some type of ECU control as you can't tune a factory ECU. A good tune alone goes for $600. You get what you pay for. $1850 isn't bad at all with guages.

Let a shop that is famililar with the kit and the Z do it. The old saying "you get what you pay for" is pretty true in this industry. And hey, it's your engine...do you want to take shortcuts? Just food for thought.

Ok, a return fuel system is in the works, but what I am doing is stages, 1st turbonetics and custom 3" exhaust, then fuel system and plenum and u/r pullies. The kit is allright out of the box (I bought gauges for insurance, any other advice is always good), I have had superchargers on past vehicles but I am relatively unfamiliar with turbos.

I'm sure that Sharif is a very good tuner and also a great guy from what I have read on here but that is a big difference in install price. I'm sure that z1motorsports is more that capable of installing the TN kit. $1300.00 for labor is around what I paid for my TN kit with an exhaust, APS plenum, APS oil pan, boost gauge and a few hours of tuning. I would understand if he was also installing an EU and tuning it. Good Luck with your install.

My next door neighbors 18 year old kid who went to high school auto shop classes could put this kit in. It's when you hit problems that you wish you had brough it to the right shop in the first place. The guy who installs the kits at CP is a Nissan qualified mechanic who knows literally everything there is to know about the engine in that car. Throw some codes, and everyone stands around looking at each other @ the lowball shop. I want someone who knows the VQ35 motor, and was taught by Nissan.

Your also going to need a new clutch in that car. Second... The injectors in the TN kit won't get you near your power goal.

i am very familiar with the work performed on my buddy's vortech supercharged Z by Z1. i seen the most horrific welding job i have ever seen come out of that shop. my buddy had many problems with his kit and install. PM backagain if you want first hand knowledge of his pain. went there for a 350Z/G35 dyno day and saw some stuff happen that made me give the shop a big thumbs down. shop is nice though. i have done all my work myself or with the help of friends, anything i won't tackle myself i will only let shariff and CPracing do (nothing yet, but soon). My buddy got his Z retuned there and had nothing but good things to say, their customer service is top notch! in the end spending the extra money will be worth it.

Along with what VitaminZ posted, Z1 has had more negative feedback than positive ones. And when I went there a couple of times and while being impressed with the facility, not with the other more important kind of stuff if you get what I mean.

There are quite a good amount of folks were not to happy after their trips there.

Including another Vortech owner, who went originally to Z1... Then drove up to Sharif and CPR to get it all straightened out.

It does pay in the long run to get it done right the first time by people who have the experience along with great customer service... Over and over again Sharif and CPR have great feedback from others... And when you see folks drive long *** ways just for them that really means something.

Yep, I have been to many shops... And what you say is true. Before Sharif and CPR... I had given up on "shops" to do any of my work, which is why I tried to do everything on my own... But because of lack of time, I used a shop (Knowledge Performance) which had a good reputation... But little to no experience with the 350Z (most experience with Honda's/Acura's, WRX's, etc.)... But hell if people can install it themselves of course any shop can... Well they did, but not up to par that is for damn sure. Lessen learned, and now if it is something I cannot do (lack of time or knowledge)... It goes straight to Sharif and CPR.

Well unless you can get them to tell you who they did that too, I wouldn't put to much into it honestly cause like JET said you are not going to get that alone with the standered kit... Also did they tell you how long you would have to wait for the install? Last time I went to them for a quote on my LSD, I just left shaking my head.

Of course I ain't trying to hate on your highschool graduate friends, but like others not to impressed by them in general.

Sharif isn't just a great tuner, he is a Greddy Twin Turbo Z owner! A actual 350Z owner who cares about having the right information without coming off like a "know it all" LOL. With vast knowledge, how many other folks at these "shops" can say that lol. Along with CPR who already have alot of experience with different turbo/supercharger kits... Coupled with suspensions (springs, sways, coils, axles, etc), and drivetrain work (clutches, LSD's, Fly's, etc).

I'm making the trip in January to Sharif from Florida, if your going to spend the money on the T-kit the first step in my opinion is finding the best installer and time and time again I have seen nothing but positve posts for Sharif. I personally don't want to put the miles on my car or pay for the flatbed but in the end I know it will be worth it if my car is tuned properly and running safe. I also look at the service he provides, when you call he answers or calls back and provides a lot of help for those with questions on the forum, and yes its a business but just yesterday I noticed someone with a question and Sharif answered it and the reply was, I wish I was going to have you install my FI kit. Sharif replied that the shop he was going to was near by and he would come by. He's not getting paid and he is helping out someone else's customer who obviously couldn't answer his question to begin with. That's what made my decision.

You are in good hands.... One of the best. I'm driving 953 miles Tuesday to go to Virginia to have Altered Atmosphere work on my car. The trip to Charlotte is childs play.

I'm not bypassing Sharif to go to AAm in VA. I'm lending my car so they can build base maps for the Turbo XS UTEC. If not I'd be with dealing with Sharif.

Yeah and JET that is super cool you getting that UTEC and AAM is using you for the Turbonetics base map... Sweet in fact, that way when or if I upgrade to the UTEC your map will be there to help

I will be in Maryland from late May through early September. i definitely want to stop by AAM for they are one of the only other shops i would ever take my Z to for anything. I probably won't have my Z with me though, i have a bad feeling about bringing it up there. i should have a few things done before then though. i hope to be seeing Sharif and Eric soon for some quality tuning. Forged engine coming (late 06). would love to meet up with the maryland and NC peeps.
