Tim, are we still on the list for testing? This new design looks very interesting.

Tim,

It looks like there will be clearance issues for the APS TT piping and possibly the Greddy..Forget it for the TN or a SC..

Actually the TN kit will bolt right up to the TB.They will need a pipe from us that comes with a mass-air sensor fitting though. We will make it work for all the turbo kits. Our turbo system is routed just like the APS set-up and we have already figured out the piping for our kit so it should work with the APS set-up.The Greddy kit is a different story but we have alot of possibilites with this set-up so we think we can make it work. The SC guys might be SOL though.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to do it like this? Besides being more asthetic the piping is much more direct with fewer curves. Its gotta be more effective and retains the stock strut bar.

BTW, this is one of the TopSecret manifolds.

On the Z the timing chain cover is almost the same hieght as the hood so there is very little clearance there which means you would need an aftermarket hood to run an intake like that. This si why we didnt do it this way.We are working on cutting down some of the piping length.I will post some pictures once we get everything finalized.

That pic is on a Z and the hood is the Top Secret vented hood. It has the same angle/spacing as the stock hood. But the car is highly modified so I suppose it could have changed the spacing possibly. This is kick-*** though. You should try it.

Notice how they balanced the two sides? That may have worked on your first design.

We tried it on a 350Z with our Coffin style intake manifold. No clearance for the hood and unless you wanted some real funky hood......you would have to cut into the timing covers to get the thing to sit low enough.Take a look under your hood and you will see what I mean.

The most recent picture on page 7 is the final design of our new intake manifold. We will be putting a balance tube on it and moving one of the mounting brackets but it is pretty much finished. We might have to play with the tubing diameters between the TB and the plenums but I think we have a winner.

I just dont get it..Top Secret dumps $150,000 into a 350Z and keeps the stock strut tower brace...chuckle..

Isnt the engine in that Z a VQ30 from a japanease gloria anyways. I have to say that it is funny that they used the stock strut tower bar. If I am not mistaken they used the stock y-pipe also.

yes VQ30. That might be why they have a little more room?

Have you guys looked into the drive by wire system and running dual throttle bodies or are you leaving that up to the final product user and simply providing a dual-ready plenum ?
