Average HP for APS TT?? (out of the box)
I don't think 400whp is an average out of the box number. I've heard more like 360-380whp from most people. I would say with stock exhaust and no mods that you're leaning more towards the 360whp out of the box. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

You can't be serious? Yammy is the biggest crybaby know-thing that ever registered for that forum. You are talking one single person/situation. His car was in definite need of a tune from what I remember, which you should do regardless.

I don't have specifics on what or who you are refering to. I would guess an APS ST puts out 340-360 depending on exhaust. I am installing an APS ST on a car here, and will let you know my impressions on out of box feel. The biggest issue with the APS seems to be boost tapering towards redline. It seems it was designed to do this, but I also feel, the setup is very finicky with what exhaust is pair with it. I know Kopo is running 400 whp on an APS ST, but I am unsure of the boost he is running.
No kit is without issue, but if installed properly, I believe the APS to provide the safest FI solution. In terms of ST setups, I do think the TN has the most potential for HP/TQ, but will require larger injectors (440cc+), a piggy back EMS in replace of the reflash, and a return style fuel system (all of which the APS comes with out of box).
With all that out there, I really don't care for any ST setup. I don't like the placement of the turbos on either the APS or the TN setups. I know with the turbo being "right in your face" with the TN, it does provide a little bling.
I am not saying the the TN kit is bad, just that without the ability of a custom tune (without buying a separate piggyback), I really think it hurts the out of box safety of the kit.
Good info guys, I was looking at the difference in costs compared from the APS ST and the APS TT. I want to be in the 400 hp range out of the box. I dont want to have to encure other hidden costs to realize my hp goals. I've been seeing alot of TN STs getting 400 hp on average so TN is starting to sway me towards that way. But everyone is saying how safe the APS ST or TT is. With me money is everything. I want to make sure my investment is worthwhile. Thanks again guys.
Just get the TN kit and add in a UTEC or emanage ultimate. It'll still be cheaper than the APS ST kit in the end either way....
I would've gone that route initially but I don't like the idea of a reflash....as Zivman says it should be tuneable

I think the hp depends on the dyno you use, I think it is more usefull to talk about rwhp gain. When you say APS TT out of the kit (w/o tall boy or exhaust) you will add on about 100 rwhp, if you add on a good exhaust you will see about 15-50 more rwhp, than if you add on test pipes I would expect 20-50 more rwhp (and a drop of 100F on the exhaust!), and if you add on the tall boy I think you would see about 10-20 rwhp more (I don't have this, yet this is what others are claiming).

I pulled 450 on GRD's DynoPack and Tuan said I might pull another 20 hp or so on a dynojet. Even that is less than a 10% difference.
I think the only conclusion to get from this is that the number varies, and in some cases a lot. I think 400 whp out of box would be a bit optimistic, on the other hand 350, might be a bit conservative.
Out of the box, you are looking at 360-400whp. Its all across the boards. Some of the APS actuators are a bit soft, and you may see a little boost drop-off as redline approaches. And of course there are differences between dynos, and all the other variables, such as exhuast systems, test pipes, etc.
Regardless, all of the FI kits on the market today, can be optimized for significantly more power, via a thorough retune. I woudlnt put too much credit into "out of the box" numbers, IMHO.

I don't think it will be cheaper than the APS ST. I purchased the TN for $4300, $950 for UTEC, $400 wideband, $1000 fuel return, $400 - $550 injectors. Even if I don’t add the wideband or fuel return it still comes out more for the TN kit with the injectors. Don't get me wrong I like the TN kit and when my UTEC will finally be complete I will have a safe low 400's RWHP car. But if the reflash doesn’t work it could cost you more than the APS from the beginning.

I love you guys. The man asked a question. He didn't ask for your pi**ing contest. I just had my car dyno 406 rwhp 8.5 lbs (NO TUNE OUT OF THE BOX). So leave your crap in another thread especially if you don't own a kit. You guys are such babies.
