I doubt the stress point will change by doing that on a 2 piece wheel but...eh...I'm sticking to my first post. Sell a kidney, sell your wheels, sell your dog and get some custom HREs or Kinesis wheels before you do this...

fact is that that will now be the strongest part of the wheel (if done welded correctly) if these guys do this for work i'm sure they know the stresses that will be on the wheel. most all 2 piece wheels have the center welded in from the back side, and that seems to be a widely accepted procedure. as long as they get all the pieces welded in centered, i'm sure it would be fine. the thing that does make me curious though, is the section added in cnc'ed or is it cut off from massive tube stock. i just don't see how they would create the new ring being welded in. maybe thats why i don't widen wheels for a living, lol.

You should look into I-Forged wheels. Super nice for less money then the HRE's. I love mine.

So what's the widest a 10" wheel will fit with-out rolling the fenders or doing any cutting?
