It is basically always armed, but you really have to commit to the throttle to get it to engage.
Couldnt have said it better myself. It releases the lower rev limit as soon as it picks up speed signal input. Since clutch launch points can vary, the speed signal is the best approach for two-step deactivation.

Yes it does. The thing with launching, is you want consistency, first, and then the ability to build boost when staging the car. With a turbo car, you arent going ot build boost untill there is load on the motor, which means the car usually has to be moving. For instance, if you free rev the car to 4000rpm and hold it there normally, you will see tons of vaccum, rather than boost.

With 2-Step, you can set a lower launch point, but still floor the accerator. This initiates ignition cut at the desire launch RPM, and allows you to build boost while remaining stationary. You should experiment with different launch RPM's, until you get your best 60ft times.

so in which part of the exhast does the explosion occur? also, wouldn't this create damage to the exhaust?

the explosions are small enough to not do any damage. all that is igniting is the spent fuel from the cylinder that didn't fire and the other firing cylinder ignites it. it happens before the turbo. like little mini backfires.

Nice Sharif! I should warn everyone though. Don't use this for more then a few seconds on the line. Maybe ~30 at most (even thats a long time - personally I don't go for more then 15 seconds). Also, this will casue damage to the turbos over the long term. Essentially unburnt fuel (which explodes in the manifold) and ultra hot gases are being expelled at the end of each cycle (exhaust stroke). This causes tiny shock waves that help to spool the turbo but can also lead to long term bearing and wheel damage as well as valve damage due to the high amounts of heat if used for extended periods.

Thanks for the reminder. I posted that warning on the other thread. I usually dont do this for more than 10 seconds or so at most. You also want to watch your EGT's, becuase sustained use of 2-step can cause EGT's to really skyrocket.

Idiot question... is this an electronic add on to the GReddy E manage Ultimate 2? Or is this something that is meant for the ultimate 2 that works with the car's stock ECU? In other words (Not that I would get it.) would this work with an APS unit and the software they supply? Or is this a programming option with the U2 piggyback?

Hey Josh,

This is part of the standard programming inside the eManage Ultimate box. It is not seperate module, so you would need the EU in order to do the 2-Step function.
