Default AEM wideband not reading!!! Car detonating!!!

Ok guys so I installed the AEM wideband one wire goes to 12v wire and the other is a ground. Then I hooked up the sensor to the 3in turbonetics exhaust pipe at the very end where there was already a whole. I dont understand it doesnt even read any numbers it lights up but thats about it.

Also my car is detonating I can hear the noise between 3-6K rpms in 3rd gear.

What do I do!!!!

Take it easy on the car. Don't put it in boost. That is where my car was running lean. Take it to a shop with a dyno and check the AFR.

Yes thats what I am doing right now. Before you spend money on the UTEC go and run it on a dyno with an wideband just to be safe.

Yes I would say that is a good deal. The UTEC is around $950 and the map sensor is $100. Labor for install and tuning would be in the $300 - $500 area. I would do it. I also went with there wideband O2. Its $399 but it plugs right into the UTEC and you can also data log from it. Just be carfull until you get the UTEC. Don't go into boost. Good luck and I hope you get your car running strong and enjoy it.

Believe me I know what you mean. I still haven't had a chance to floor my car yet and my kit was installed Nov. 20th. I waited till the UTEC was out. Now I am just waiting for my installer.

As stated, limp the car to a local dyno and run the car with an AFR graph. In the process you'd probably want to have your shop double check your install and your Wideband install.

Even with the reflash on this kit, I would not recommend running the car without first dynoing it. I would in no way recommend that for ANY new FI installation.

+10000 on taking it to a dyno w/wideband to have it checked out.

I thought that three lines on the AEM meter meant that the AFR was below 10... That should not be detonating...

Hey Red Hot yes the Utec will fix your car. But like i told you lets call AEM and Turbonetics tomarrow. Sucks i know how you feel just want to throw all the money at it and what not hell i do the same but chill out for a second and lets call the right people. Tell turbonetics theres not 1 but a few cars out there with lately installed kits detonating. if they want they can take Mine and yours up there and leave it for a few days. btw yours was detonating way more then mine was and you just have exhuast.
