i am at the point to where i am going to get the turbonetics ST or the vortech. how does the tn ST produce better 1/4 mi. times w/ 380ishrwhp than the vortech with 390-400rwhp?
and i really dont want to blow my engine. is the TN ST trust worthy?

i've had the vortech on for over 10k miles now, and there were times when the turbonetics ST came out i was seriously considering switching over. mainly bc of the numbers that a turbo can put out and at what rpm. but then i figured i dont need all the extra problems associated with the ST and i dont go ***** to the wall everytime i drive, and im not always at the track. the car is fun on the street when ur up against the american v8s and the various german cars. i have yet still to have ne serious problems with the kit, only thing ive ever had to do is adjust the belts every now and then, and clean the filter.
ne kit is trustworthy as long as the install and tuning is done correctly.

Ok i have a question, im hoping some expert can answer. If vortechs are only good for being a low 13s or high 12s car. Wouldn't staying NA with all the bolt ons, cams and a good tune and maybe soem 3.9 gears be just as fast? Why is supercharging so slow? Because i can have all the bolt ons and cams with a good tune, and not even reach 300 rwhp, but i would be doin the 1/4 mile in low 13s, which is something the vortech would do with 380+ rwhp. Why is that?

Superchargers are not weak at all, maybe with low boost/pulleys. My procharger gets a little over 400rwhp w/o NOS. And with a 50shot of NOS it bumps up to 525rwhp and 400-450 torque at the wheels from 2-6800rpms. Anyone near Kansas City should come take a ride in my Z to see what a superchargered Z can really do.
