Default 380cc inj good for 400whp

Is it possible to tune the T-NETICS kit with the UTEC to 400 whp using the 380cc injectors? My car is currently at GT Motorsports getting the UTEC and map sensor installed and tuned so I was wondering what to expect the final numbers to be. Do any of you have any ideas.

Thanks
Gilbert

I would suspect their duty cycle to be near maxed out at 400whp..

Close is too close for comfort..I guess you could bump the fuel pressure but for example the APS injectors are 440's and are maxed out at 470-480whp at over 90% duty cycle and becom uncontrolable in the higher RPMS over that level..I would suggest 440's as a minimum for 400WHP...

D350Z10 said his 380cc injectors were maxed out at around 450RWHP. GRD told me that low 400's were no problem.

Supposedly the 380cc injectors in the kit are rated at 380cc @ 43psi, and the z runs higher psi then that so they actually flow a little more

440 cc injectors at 58 psi will produce just over 500 WHP.

ya cutting it kind close but running the fuel pressure around 55 should be ok. minimum 42lbhr injector for 450hp (crank) at 43psi fuel pressure is what the injector calc. comes out at.

If you want to be 100% safe get the 440cc injectors. But I think you will be fine with the 380cc TN injectors.

Well I am doing a basic fuel return, just like the APS fuel return. I also am also staying with the stock 380cc injectors unless I am told that they are maxed out at the power level I want. Like I said D350Z10 on here took the stock 380cc injectors to 450 RWHP before they were maxed out. I am shooting for low 400 - 420 RWHP. I guess anything over 400 RWHP that can be made safe. If you want to be 100% safe or want extra room to go even higher later then the 440cc would be fine.

The denso core 380cc injectors are good for 400whp. Anyone that says otherwise is just tying to sell you something.

I personally don't see the point in going with the 440cc injectors unless you're planning on breaking 420whp without planning on ever building your motor.

Thats incorrect,no one is trying to sell him anything, were just trying to help him answer his question..Based on mathematical calculations he will need at least 480cc injectors to safely support 460chp/400whp at 58psi of fuel pressure. This will run his injectors at the industry standard 80% Duty cycle.
Here is an interesting page to do some calculations:

http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm

Anyone who tells him otherwise is walking the line...

On the TN cars we've tuned to 400whp'ish, we always installed 440cc injectors. This give you some breathing room, and allows the injectors to operate at a more comfortable 75-80% duty cycle, rather than close to 100%.

There are various ways to make power....with differing levels of safety. Oftentimes, there is more than one answer to a question, and then the customer has to decide based on their comfort level.

We sell all the RC injectors here, if you need anything: http://www.forgedinternals.com/store/home.php?cat=251

We also strongly recommend a return fuel system as well, as its the only way to get stable differential fuel pressure at the injector nozzle.
