How much does a Longblock weigh?
I'm posting this here because the FI gang seems to know more about the engine than any other subset of the forum due to the number of engine buildups there have been.
So, how much does a longblock weigh? I need to know the shipping weight, preferrably including a pallet.
Thanks,
--Steve

Dont know what the Wt. is but my short block cost me $185.00 to ship to SGP from Omaha Ne. And it was $225.00 to ship back . I built a small crate to ship . With a long block , I would guess , up to a $100.00 more . I think the Wt. on the short block and the small crate was 145lb's

Call and get qoutes from several places. Depending on where their closest hub is and where the hub is where it is going to be delivered makes the price vary. Also if you do not have a fork lift or a way to get it into a big truck you will need to ask for a liftgate truck which will cost you extra.
Hope that helps
As Kyle says, make sure you shop around for freight shipping. Different services charge different rates depending on where their hub is located/domiciled.
Wow, how did you know, lol.
