You buy a $40 timing harness so you can retard timing and run "safely"

TN is missing basically the same parts as the greddy kit. I think it is estabilished that the TN kit is not complete out of box.

But he is looking for 500+whp down the road, so the Greddy would be more suitable.

And don't be lulled into the completeness of the TN kit. Many users will feel the needs to upgrade the fuel system, EMS, etc...and as I mentioned earlier, those costs difference, at this point, would be nearly a wash.

Labor is $800-$1000 more install the Greddy kit.

I saw the greddy kit on ebay for like 4280 bucks:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GRedd...spagenameZWDVW

I don't think they include the IC though. What's that another 500?

And what's wrong with the Greddy Emanage? I thought it could adjust timing and fuel?

Correct, the EBAY auction does not include the intercooler kit, which is another $1300-$1500 after the price increase.

The blue eManage included with the Greddy isnt bad, it's just not great. The EU/UTEC provides much finer control over fuel and timing, and lets the tuner "see" more data, for a safer tune.

I was up at Turbonetics Friday and took a look at what they had going for Stage 1.5..I have a feeling it will be ordered more then Stage 1 very soon. So far the list includes everything the Stage 1 kit comes with but replace 380cc injectors with 550s, replace the relfash with a completely tuneable EMS with software included, bluetooth access to the EMS for entering new maps or real timing monitoring of the correction factors, two maps including two boost levels. The first map will be a safe tune from Turbonetics that can be altered later and the second map will be a user tuneable map. It will have closed loop boost control and include a boost control solenoid so the user can have the boost setting change by just setting the included switch to map 2. Best of all a fuel return system to keep pressure constant for tuning. The return system is still in R&D as they are deciding which way they want to go with it but it will be good for upper 500s minmum.. To summarize:

550cc injectors
New EMS with closed loop boost control, 2 maps with selection switch, bluetooth access to EMS for real time correction changes are correction monitoring, user tuneable, can even run an intercooler sprayer if you want...
Fuel return system...

Very nice Robert..thanks for sharing with us. I am happy they are including the return fuel system. Just keep in mind, that single Walbro255 starts to loose pressure up top beyond about 550whp, so that should be considered the safe limit with a single Walbro255.

They are working on that as well. Part of the fuel return setup they are designing is a way to add a second pump to the mix for those with Stage II...

500 hp the tn kit can easly with stand that amount of power... Both kits need bigger injectors and fuel return and as well as better ems units so the are pretty equal.... greddy doesnt come with a fuel pump... TN does.. but then again Greddy now comes with a oil pan and TN doesnt so it is all on preference... if you like single turbo feel better than go TN... I personally feel the Tn would be the better way to go... plus it looks alot better if you are into car shows and such you can actually see the turbo!!!

<~~~going GReddy.

I really took my time and talked (here or by phone) to a lot of knowledgeable people, some of which are on this forum.

At the end of the day, the additional cost of the GReddy TT kit wasn't enough of a deterrent for me.

The upside potential of this setup is WELL worth the incremental difference in price Turbonetics v. GReddy TT.

one man's opinion...

I don't know what size the compressor wheel is on a GT35..APS won't relase the compressor maps so its impossible to know what the max flow rate is...

There isn't one...its too soon to discuss pricing. They have yet to figure out what its going to cost for the return system..

MIA, is the housing on the TN turbo the same size as a GT35, or smaller?
