Default HKS Twin Turbo Kit and Apexi Turbo Kit

So the HKS twin turbo kit is coming (See this thread).

Does anyone else have more info on it?

And what about the Apexi turbo kit, is that going to ever come out or what (there were pictures before, where the turbo is mounted by the plenum or something like that).

yes, it's nice to know.

The more kits, the better for us, more competition can lead to price wars between them

I think more than anything it means they're recognizing the VQ35 as a good motor and that VQ owners are serious about what they do.

which is cool. But I'd never buy it, because you can be damn sure that kit will cost like 10k and not perform any better than most kits out there. Besides, look at the tiny diameter of those downpipes!

the reason we cant boost high stock is because we have such high compression you can get a thicker cometic head gasket and boost alittle bit higher like alot of people do on there sr20's

I really doubt they'll ever twin turbo a Z... it'd cut into the new GT-R too much.

I'm going to be sort of pissed if the HKS kit comes out and costs like $9,995 without anything ACTUALLY being better. I hate that even with car guys there is some Louis Vuitton bullsit emblem worship going on.

HKS is a pretty good company. I'd go as far as to say its the best non-super-expensie JDM (think amuse and endless) company outside of the Z. Its odd they havn't penetrated the Z market other than the intakes and exhaust they produce. The exhaust, as you can see, is damn good. Imagine a turbo kit from them?

even if the HKS kit comes out, it uses Garrett turbos anyway, so we might as well stick w/ the aps if you want garretts

HKS is decent. IMO they've got their hands in too many things to be called nearly the best at any one thing. And yes, HKS turbos are basically rebadged garrett units, with a hefty pricetag for the name.

Yeah, I can imagine a turbo kit from them. It'll be as good as JWT or APS and cost twice as much.

Why pay twice as much when it'll make the same power????? it's not like you drive around with your hood open all day long for people to see the HKS badged money in your engine bay.

Why does everyone think HKS products are priced higher than others? From my research I will strongly disagree.

HKS coilovers: $1400-1800
Coilover Range: 1200-2800

HKS Exhaust: $1500
Exhaust range: $850-2000

HKS Rotrex Supercharger: $5500
Rotrex Supercharger for other vehicles: $5-10k

Dont compare the HKS Rotrex to the Vortech because it is a completely different unit.
