I am looking for a general forum consensus of the build, fitment, and quality of the SFR products, mainly exhaust. I am planning on ordering their 3" y-pipe back exhaust with the dual Borla XR1 mufflers. I hope I am not making a bad decision here so I though I would consult the pros on this board. I have been a few pages back on the FI forum here and have found very little talk about SFR exhausts. I will be mating the exhaust to my APS single turbo, the exhaust will be replacing my JIC single exit exhaust that I am currently running. The JIC exhaust works great but I am not fond of the single exit look whatsoever.

Sound clip, though it is in a garage...

I saw one mounted and was under the car while it was running. It had a bad exhaust leak and did not hang well on the factory hangers. The guy who installed it was not impressed. IMHO it is overpriced compared to the quality.

only times we have fitment issues is when someone asks for any special order product that we have never done before. but when its a G or Z, we tend to have access to those cars for test fitment prior to parts being shipped. so everything should arrive to you able to be bolted on with proper fitment. But, I will advise you however, DONT try to install ANY aftermarket exhaust on these cars in your driveway on jackstands. It can be done, but its way more difficult. Its all because of how the undercarriage is designed from the factory.

Let’s say there are fitment issues, what would SFR do about it? Would you have to ship it back for them to fix it? Or would we have to go out and get it fixed ourselves? Either way its just more money and time that’s not necessary.

We did just install one on my car, and due to my body kit we ran into fitment issues with the angled tips. But Tim was kind enough to make up different mufflers and send them to us while we ran the angled tips.
Thumbs up for quality and fitment..

YES my car gets exposure! haha thats my car in the pic and I love the exhaust. Sounds great. A little loud but isnt that what a race car is supposed to be? Anyway so yeaaaa I love it and im sure you will also. SFR has dont alll my work for the past 2 years and ive dropped some serious pocket change with them b/c I can trust them with everything. Their great, awesome service, super super accommodating, and their mad friendly. I would def give Tim a call direct and talk to him if you have any questions/doubts because many people know he is on top of the game.
Tim, there I said it. Now you must give me that free turbo upgrade like you promised!
lol j/k haha

tim does that for any customer. He will take the time to expain all...AND I MEAN ALL aspects of your question. Anyone who deals directly with him wont be disappointed. its those who go off the word of others who have never even talked DIRECTLY to him that try to put him and SFR down, that tend to give him and his company a bad name. and since they have no up front experience, Their opinion means as much as chest hair on an asian.
