Default Titan 5.6L V8 swap into 350Z

Well.....somebody finally did it!! Nissan VQ 5.6 liter V8 into a 350Z. Could be a good candidate for boost! 305 hp and 380 ft.lbs stock.

Chris's car is a hardtop......the Titan swap car is a convertible. You can see the rear covers in the second pic.

I would like to see from where. The only other V8 I remember in the last while was the 4.5 liter in the Top Secret G35.

two different cars. the v8 is his new car for this year, convertible. the sr20 car is his personal car from 2 years ago. as of right now, i don't believe the v8 is running yet, but when it is, it should be interesting. someone running a 2.0 turbo motor getting sick of lag and switching to a NA v8? lol, thats pretty funny. i like that he has an open mind though. he just needs to finish it now!

I saw that car at SEMA. The motor was literally dropped into place, but its not running, or even remotely complete...yet. Should be interesting once its done.

well considering the handmade headers are running to the front, i'm assuming they are setting it up for boost. but, does arias or pauter even make stronger internals for that motor, or anybody else for that matter? if not he might be better off with the vq. anyway you look at it though, that V8 looks awesome in there, lol!!!!

Why would you even need to boost it?

+1. Isn't that going to get you one serious front end weight bias? I don't think merely relocating your battery to the rear is gonna get it, ha. I do think this is an interesting concept, but it would take a serious amount of work to sort it all out. If you want the car to still handle the twisties or even the drag strip. I had a good bit to drink at an office party though and discussed this very thing of a Titan motor in a 350Z with a couple of fellow Z heads. Then somebody brought up that old myth about a guy who strapped the 1000 lb. solid rocket booster JATO (jet assisted take off for airplanes on short runways.) unit we used to have in the Air Force to the top of a '67 Impala - and I knew it was time to go home, ha. (I saw something similar to this actually done on mythbusters.)

I'm thinking the weight distibution will be worse thus effecting handling.

The weight distro would be pretty bad. Probably 55+% up front. A better choice might be the Q45's 4.5L V8.

Redistribute that weight.
