Going to a Jim Wolf prototype with Garrett ball bearing 530 twin turbos (modified), and a long array of other changes. Built motor with CP pistons at 8.5 to 1 CR and Pauter rods, Jim Wolf S2 cams, and a target of 500+rwhp and 500+ lbft of torque. There are now two chapters on the build, and in awhile a third will start up. Very big tires and wheels, some unique features (amsoil pre-oiler and bypass filter, Motordyne iso thermal spacer, and a fluidamper harmonic balancer for the crankshaft, to name three). Ultimately hope to get some review of the torn down old motor to check on the wear during the use of the Procharger, and also to check on the internals of the supercharger, in particular the impeller blades and the bearings, over 23,000 miles of use.

Sounds GREAT........and who is performing all of this awesome work??
(shameless plug) Hehehe........
Eagle..I seen in the thread over at Alloy . You said you are going to run 2 maps for diff. gas . JWT uses the SS box , are you going with a diff. piggyback to be able to switch from map to map . Or are you just going to load up a diff. map to the SS box when needed ?

The ati is a different mechanical approach to the problem of reducing torsional vibration than the fluidamper:

They both work.

The "diagnostic" day at Streets of Willow went as well as one could hope. The car went straight from the shop floor to the track, so we had not had time to tune the suspension. With the tightened front end and significant tire stagger in the set up, the car gripped like heck, but also understeered or "pushed" at the extreme, which as you know forces you to slow down at the limits. We also had a little bit of a high pressure oil leak, and some issues with the EDFC cutting out on the Tein flex coils, we think on the right front.
Nevertheless, the car with Scott driving it ran a 1:25.667 lap time and was the fastest car tested that day. So a good start that Friday. Then we brought it down to LA, gave it a wash and some TLC, entered it in the DUB Magazine car show at the LA Convention Center, where it took third prize in the 2 door coupe category. We are going to send it back to VRT for some tweaking to get the suspension dialed in and check a gasket or two, and then we should be ready for some serious track time.

The Nitto NT-01 and Toyo RA-1 have treadwear ratings of 100, yet are still DOT-R approved, so you can run them on the street if you want. They will not last a super long time with that soft a rating, but if you stay out of the wet you will enjoy them! However, if you really want some traction, you can go to some other tires that are really "grippers", like the Hoosiers, that deliver a very soft 40 treadwear rating and are very amazing....but not for the street. I think that there is a Yokohama or Kumho offering that goes as soft as 30! But again, not for the street.
There is a pretty good Chapter 5 now on the build, with some pics of the little car hauler trailer too. We will try to run the car at Time Attack in a couple of weeks for a better suspension tune. that will probably be the start of a new Ch 6, which will be directed to the experiences on the tracks with the finished, or close to finished, car.
Cheers.
