I was wondering if it would be a good idea to add some nismo cams to my stillen s/c'd engine. I am still stage two and will eventually goto stage 3, but with the stillen kit I would be topped out between 320 and 330ish on stage 3.

Would a set of nismo cams be a noticable power adder? 15 -20 whp? I've read on here that cams perform well on FI cars.

Cams will help a little in your case (stillen SC) not as much as a turbo car. I would use a JWT S2 cam though instead. Our mechanic has done this already to Vision619's car when it was stage 3, and 4 Stillen SC'ed. Good luck.

The reason I ask about the nismo cams is because I can get a new set for 500 bucks. Worth it for the price?

The last Z I saw with stillen s/c and nismo cams only gain 10 tq on the low end nothing on top and minimal hp gains. IMHO it is not worth the 2-3k price tag.

 

Yeah he said before methanol injection he made 323 rwhp i belive... but i was wondering what he made before the cams on just stage 3, so i could see what the gains were.

Whats 2-3k? Stillen kit is way more and nismo cams are only around a grand. I was saying further up in the thread that I can get a set for 500 though.

I was wondering if you guys thought the gains would be worth the 500 bucks... or i guess would they be worth it if i had to pay the full 1000ish for nismo cams?
