Need help. Car will not start.

P0335 Crank Position sensor
P0345 Camshaft Position sensor

Getting the above codes. Any solutions or should I have it towed to dealer? Very confused. Haven't had a problem in over 20k with the Vortech.

I had the Crank Position Sensor code come up on me. Check with your local dealership, there is recall on both sensors. Since they gave me a hard time on doing the recall service, I went ahead and bought the sensors and replaced them. Z is back to normal!!

 

Yeah I just called and scheduled an appointment...said my 03 VIN was not covered in the recall? Is that true because I will call NNA and see what they say. What did it cost you to have them replaced?

 

That is exactly what they told me, but that was definitely the problem. The recall pack consist of 1 crank position sensor, 2 camshaft sensors. That fixed all my problems.

 

The sensors were approximately 130.00. I switched them out myself. Very easy to do. I highly recommend to go ahead and switch out all 3.

I have a crank angle sensor from CJ Motorsports (phunk) if you would like to purchase it. I bought 2, and have one left over from a friend who backed out. I paid $75.

 

When I had my Vortech installed, I also had the CJ Motorsports CAS wire installed. This was installed incorrectly which was causing my Crank Angle Sensor to not get the signal and it was defaulting to the Cam Angle Sensor or something like that. This would cause the car to turn over for about 10-15 seconds before it would finally start. If you had an aftermarket CAS wire installed, ensure that it is installed properly. If you did not, disregard what I just posted!

 

Since the wiring in the harness to those two sensors is spliced into by the Vortech SS timing box, you've got to be certain that 1) the wiring is correct--which, if the car ran well before, probably is; and 2) that the splices haven't disconnected or are shorting out. Did you solder or snap connect these splices?

 

Excellent diagnosis in fact all three sensors crank and cam 1 and cam 2 are spliced into the ECU harness. Unlikely all 3 sensors suddenly went south..

 

mines a 03 there was a TBS on the crank sensor, i got mine replaced, with a free clutch

 

Well guys....replaced the sensors and having same problem....time to check the wiring. Which wires should I be looking for? The connections were crimped together so maybe there is a short. Also, I am having a hard time keeping a charge on the battery. Could that be related?

My shop originally crimped my SS box . Woked for a while but then started to cause problems . Do ou have wire harness ? Or are you wired into the ECU's wires ?

 

no wire harness...just straight into ECU.

 

Might want to redo the wiring and check the wires going though the fire wall to the SS box , to make sure they havent frayed . I had a problem with both .

 

I will have to check that out. It just sucks not being able to drive my car. It was running perfect for 20k now this....

 

Did you erase the codes?

 

Even after I put in the new sensors the car didnt run right. This is after my battery being disconnected for awhile. I had to erase the codes with my code reader.
