Default Invidia G200 Diameter of 50mm? Good with Vortech?

Hey guys. We (Boosted Concepts) have just become a dealer for Invidia products. I was thinking of switching my Injen SES with the Invidia G200 exhaust but I realized that it has only 50mm piping. Of course this would be fine if I wasn't FI'd.

Can I run a Vortech using the Invidia G200 50mm piping? I really like the sound of the Invidia. Would I be losing too much potential horsepower by getting it? I think the Injen SES is just too loud so I know the smaller piping should quiet it down a bit but I just may be losing too much for it. Hmmmmmm

What do you guys think?

TIA
Jason

It's one of those things where you won't know until you try it, but I would bet you will loose some power with that kind of exhaust. Plus, I would want larger pipe size to keep EGT down.

Dont take my word for it, but i have heard a lot of guys mention that bigger doesnt give more power with S/C because they thrive on back pressure

SC's will make more boost with back pressure, but with a free flowing exhaust you will make more power at less boost.

I answered you in another forum, I have the Invidia G200, and I love it. IMO, it's great for an NA car. For an FI car you'd neded at least 2.25". 50mm (2.00") is too small for FI.

This is true. I made 11.5psi with stock cats and only around 10psi with test pipes, but I did pick up horsepower. I made a little less torque though... (5 ft-lbs) If you want to know, I have the Nismo exhaust now. I had the Borla TD previously and didn't see much of a difference with HP or TQ when I changed.

Any 3" single or 2.5" dual is fine. Just pick the one with the sound you like.

Is it a dual or a single exhaust ? A 2in. dual will be good with a SC to a point . If you plan to get higher HP out of the kit . I would go with 2.25 or 2.5in dual

Its a TD 2" pipe. I am at 385whp and 10.5 psi and that was the 3.12 and bone stock + h/f cats. I now have TD and also have the 1/2 spacer. I do not want to squeeze every drop out of this thing. I plan to go a little more conservative with this thing. I would imagine that 2
" TD is still better than the stock y-pipe.
