i agree with Colin , i think for a rear wheel drive more than the stage 4 stillen would not be streetable. The 600hp supercars need space and large highways. with the torque i have in my car i can blast from 3000rpm to redline in no time almost at any gear.

So, think about what your ultimate goals are when going FI, because I guarantee that 600rwhp sounds cool, but is it practical? Umm, no, unless it is bone dry and you're in a straight line and on a highway ... On the other hand, around town (and on the highway at reasonable speeds) the Stillen stage 4 kit is a blast, and, it feels much safer than stage 3.

Colin
hey colin... why would the stage 4 feel safer then the stage 3?

Default stillen SC

Why do you guys bash the stillen SC so much? It's a great product. I have had some belt problems, but they do need to be changed and replaced depending how hard you drive your car. In the last 28000 km. No belt changes and the only squeek is the power steering belt on start up. I live in Canada and drive the car all winter. MY 5 AT. is quick has no trouble pounding 6 mt at the drag strip. The Z is a stillen clone except for the pro torque converter and a 6 mt pumpkin swap. i am running 8.5lb. of boost on 94 ocatane on a stage 2 setup with a pulley change. It makes 307 rwhp at 5900 rpm with no other mods and i have headers on the car. I ran the car on 100 ocatane and does it pull hard on the top end. It does the 1/4 in 13.0 on 19 inch steet tires before i put the new converter in. With the converter it feels like it has nitrous coming of the line.
the car is a monster and shifting in the MM mode from 1st to 2nd is difficult as hitting the rev limiter is a real problem now as between 5000 to 6600 is a blur. 2nd gear is all out nasty as it pins you back in the seat exteremly hard. Shortly we will be upgradeing the fuel pump with the other stage 4 parts except that the blower is being ported and it will run 10 lb.s of boost. It should make 350 to 360rwhp. The ecu is also being sent out to get the rev limiter ajusted. The guys with the twin turbos have great cars but the 1/4 times that you read about are cars which have slicks and custom tunning program on the ecu. plus every trick in the book done to them. They also cost a lot more than a stillen. 550 rwhp is not streetable in a z for every day driving. My stillen should go 11.90 to 12.2 at the track. Not bad for a stillen with a 5 AT. Note it will be run on 100 ocatane and there are 3 turbo z coming to the Ontario Z club drag day in June. Time will tell who will be the quickist. The car will be set up for the drag strip from skinney front tires to slicks in the back. On other days it is a daily driver running 6 lbs of boost.
I read about the stillen that blew up? 47000 km on mine and no problems and get 32mpg on the highway. What more could you ask for. Its not the quickist but the price is right and it is dependable and the #2 fascia body kit with the hood looks great.

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this, but is it recommended to upgrade the internals of the VQ before going with a Stillen Stage 3 and Stage 4?

Thanks for info, I am a complete novice when it comes to FI, yet the more I read about this setup, the more I am inclined to plan for it in the future.

Because of the extra fuelling, stage 3 tends to run lean.

Colin - if you dont mind, when you post the sheet, tell us what, if any other mods you have and where you are located. Im sure you've mentioned it before but it will be a nice frame of reference.

The dyno was done in Marysville which is 50ft above sea-level. Other mods I have in addition to the stage 4 (8psi) are Stillen catback and Stillen intake.

This run was done on 92 octane chevron gas.

As you can see the power is still climbing so a SGP ecu reflash is on the way, I need to call those guys

Well, I think I'm done for now, I was hoping for 340rwhp and I got an extra 3

I'll be dynoing on tuesday at my usual place so that I can pose comparisons to my previous runs ...

a simple answer to your? no you dont, its the turbos and cent superchargers that would benefit from a build up since the roots is pretty maxed out at 8.5/9 psi.
