Default Twin Turbo or Single Turbo

I was just curious as to much any of you paid for your TT or single turbo for the 350Z. I've seen them priced very high and can't believe so many people actually have them. APS Twin Turbo Kit I saw was priced at 8k. I particularly don't wanna spent that much, just enough to give me some more power.

I think the APS Single Turbo is like $5800 and the APS Twin Turbo is like $6900(not exact prices just estimates). Then tuning/instal is like around another $2k.

Here is how I saw it---> I didnt have $8000-10000 to buy and install a TT kit with guages/clutch/fw and any other goodies I may need. So I decided to go with a ST TN kit, because its cheap, its easy to install-I did it myself, and the price I paid for my entire set-up with oil pan spacer, a full Titanium exhuast(did I need it? No but its damn nice and its very light), nice gauges, a nice wideband, and clutch/fw installed was only a litle more than an APS TT kit minus all the extras like guages, clutch/fw I just mentioned. So I dont get the really nice TT down low TQ, but Ill wait 500rpm's more to hit full boost, save a few thousand that Im putting towards other things and Ill beat 85-90% of them at the track. <----not BS'ing you

If you have all that money to spend on the car then by all means go TT. However, I was stretching my bank account with the ST and am more than happy with the returns/$.

either way you decide to go, you will not regret it. the car is so much fun with more power you will have a smile ear to ear either way.
the big question is what are your ultimate goals. tt kits have more headroom for high hp with built motors at more of an expense. the single turbo's are designed to give more value in a bolt on and using a stock block. the more power you want, the more your going to spend. but thats the same for any car, lol.

Price limit, power goal, and driving characteristics can help determine which one you should go with.

I would say if you don't want to spend over $6,000 USD, then you would be better off going with a single turbocharger kit.

If it is a daily driver, consider what modifications you would need to make it run smooth for most of the time. Also consider a plan to have a back-up vehicle in case something happens to your 350Z/G35.

If you don't want over 550-600 RWHP, I would just get the single turbocharger kit. You still have the potential to do that kind of power with a single, but it will probably cost more than if you did that with a TT kit instead.

What do you mean if something goes wrong with my Z? Are Turbos prone to malfunction?

Turbos are not prone to malfunction, but there are more parts to break, and more hoses that can crack, come off, or break etc... THere's nothing wrong with a properly installed turbo setup, just know that you are increasing the chances of things going wrong, when you start modifying and adding parts etc... There's oil lines, vacuum lines, lot of heat, etc etc... with not a lot of room, so you just have to keep an eye on everything and keep the car maintained, and you'll be A-OK.

well actually for me it was between the TT and ST I went with the ST for the easy install and killer looks. I have already spent about 16k give or take in a couple of months but this includes the essentials such as TN ST, UTEC, Tuner Pro, 650cc inj, return fuel sys, clutch, flywheel, built long block, cams, RSR exhaust, methanol inj, gauges, plus the tune. I still need to drop in the long block. Why did I do it because I would like to be the first Turbonetics ST to hit 500 whp!!!!

So whichever way you go be ready to fork over the cash!!!

If any parts break is what I mean by if something goes wrong with your 350Z/G35.

No.

If you do not have the (complete - all parts needed) turbocharger kit installed and tuned correctly, then you will be more prone to having (a) part(s) fail.

Anyone who modifies their car should know (realize) that there is a chance that something may go wrong because of it.
