Not necessarily, you should look at the engines specs (bore x stroke). We arent really talking about making more power, we are talking about how much power we can make out of 91 octane. You can boost it to hell but at that low of an octane there is a limit to the amount of hp you will create. Its not as easy as 1 2 3 or a b c.

Highest I herd was 620whp @ 13psi.... With a built motor running 10.5 compression.... Another has 560 with a built motor low compression 8.5 or so

Exactly... My shop which is ran by Vinny Ten... Said building a 1000hp car is not the problem... It's doing it on 91 octane... He thinks 500-600 is no problem... He has built a Supra with crazy hp on pump gas, I forget what the hp was though...

Jotech put out 669 on race gas... 600 might be the limit for pump gas time will tell...

Building a 1000hp car isnt a problem, yes I know that. But the pump gas is a different story. I mean through the years technology has come up with ways to run higher hp without detonating, but its still dangerous to run at those hp levels on 91 octane. If you just look at the molecular formula of 91 you can tell it doesnt hold up to much. I think 93 is much better but these damn oil companies are robbing us dry.

oh boy... let me get this straight - are you saying that SGP has solved the head lifting problem and you know what they did but can't tell us?

Awesome numbers! I can't even imagine driving that thing. I can't get my 315/30/18 tires to hook up with 443whp lol.

I know, to most car guys this may sound stupid, and a little off topic. I know the 350 has issues hooking up, but this could also be improper setup on your tires. I suppose you guys know that when you put such fat tires on your car, you need to lower your tire pressuer in order to get the proper tire contact patch. If you keep the stock tire pressure with 285 or above, your contact patch is going to be crap. Are you guys lowering your pressures?

All I will say is that they are not having the head lift problem with this car or others. I am current and past customer of SGP so if they tell me something I am not going to post it online unless they say it's ok. They work hard to earn the reputation they have so people will go to them.

George from APS has posted that they have made 790whp with their APS TT 350z, but didn't say anything about the set up.

Mine is mainly due to my suspension setup as well as tire pressure.

I saw and heard this beast in person. The first thing i thought when i heard the cams and the exhaust from outside the shop was "Oh my god thats loud! That must be a 5.6 Titan conversion", but as soon as saw the motor and talked to sean about what the car had i was suprised to know it was still the VQ.

Very nice work done by SGP and definately one badass car.

Thank you for respecting the fact that we try our best to keep the shop secrets in the shop.
The car, as well as many others that leave here show great quality of work and each setup is done and nothing small over looked.

All in good time...

Okay, I'm gonna spill the beans. They're using a 4 gallon dry ice tank in the trunk. There, I said it!

Ok, shop secrets...? This is one of those things that really digs me, but whatever... Why even bother posting it on the forum if it was a secret?

It was stated that the owner of this car built it to drag race - who does he plan on drag racing, Vinny Ten? because that's who he'll be going up against with his mods...

Funny, Vinny has the fastest 350z and hasn't found the cure for the heads lifting as of yet... Although this isn’t a huge problem when you’re only running down the 1/4 mile track but it’s another story for a road race or street car.

Vinny is extremely helpful and willing to help find the cure, just as he did with the Supra - - - guess that's why he's the 'godfather' of the Supra and will surely be of the 350z as well...

You keep your secrets, it will not be long before a cure is found and posted on the forum for everyone to benefit from. Why you would find something that worked(?), and don’t add it to your online store makes me wonder or raise the b s flag…

Like I said before, great numbers - you just need to find another 1000whp to match the guys running in your class...

Relax my friend! Maybe they're still testing it out, and it's not fully ready to go public yet?

edit: that last sentence made no sense at all

The issue with lifting heads can happen sporadically, and under extreme use and pressure. I have no doubt you'll see 700-800whp+ on the dyno. But try making a 60mph to 170mph pass on the freeway (repeatedly), at full boost and load...and see if the heads stick.

With Darton sleeves, oversized studs, and a Cometic/Cosworth head gasket, I imagine our heads will be sticking a lot better in the future. Only time will tell.
