Unfortunately that's just how things are here in SoCal...I wish it could change...but that's just a wish...I can't say how many customers have called me up just to tell me stories of how they got pulled over and harassed. Luckily most of us have legal engines...I know a lot of 240 owners that get sent to the referee left and right...then you're really in trouble!

maybe hd has a lobbyist? too bad modders don't. we need to organize!

And we have it the worst Z-boy...

That San Diego "Drag-Net" program informs all the officers of the typical mods, engine swaps etc...

Even officers from LA and OC come down to San Diego to take these courses so we can bet cops down here know a thing or two.

You're lucky you ran into one that was pretty cool I guess.

The problem is that the cops take advantage of their "authority". I will sit the two hours waiting for a warrant. In the meantime, my lawyer will have met me out there. I will not let my rights be violated for convenience. I don't care if I **** the cop off. I will cooperate and be truthful but I won't let a random pull over turn into a full search of my car when they have no probable cause to do so.

i agree....but as for me, I'd just cooperate. if it was my house you damn straight i'm calling a lawyer. but if i can get home sooner just by popping my hood (i've got nothing to hide) that that's fine with me. i'd rather watch the game with a cold drink in my hand than sit on a freeway watching dogs sniff the underside of my car...lol. i prefer to pick my battles than fight everyone of them.

Too bad theres' NO WARRENT for vehicle searches. Youd be waiting a long time. They don't need a warrent for a mobile vehicle. As long as they have suspicion that you car is modified, you have to comply. They do need probable cause tho. So, don't let people confuse you, you don't need a warrant. There is no warrant available for cars.
