now just out of curiousity, do you guys have a solution for guys still running the factory ecu with this trans swap? speedo conversion, and the like. or is it going to be for all out racing and standalone ecu's?

I would like to keep the Z's AT tranny since it has the triptronic option which is alot of fun but no one still is able to upgrade the tranny to hold power. But i also want performance becouse if you want a serious 1/4 mile monster you need that fully built AT.
BTW keep us informed on what other options we have for other trannies thanks.

The Turbo400 is a streetable transmission. There are two options, one with the transbrake and one with the lock up converter. The latter of the two is what most people would go with. The transbrake option would be used for the serious drag racer. The Turbo400 with lockup and a 6 speed differential is what most Supras run on the street. I would have to guess that this setup would also be very good for the Z. Just need to play with rear end ratios.
The Turbo400 does soak up power. Depending on the horsepower numbers you are looking for, you can go with the Turbo350 which does not soak up as much.
We are putting a Powerglide or Turbo400 in one of our 350z's and already run one in our 1100rwhp Supra

it has been a long time since i have messed with a t400. they have lock-up converters for them now? like a 4000 stall with a cruise full lock up switch? they use a different valve body or something? i know the 700r4's do and the newer style 4l80e's. or were you referring to just the normal lock up stall speed? i know the glide and t400 can be built a bit more stronger and a little cheaper than the overdrive versions of 3 speeds. been a couple years since doing a overdrive though, so they might have come out with more stuff for it now though.
can't wait to see the tech write up on this. i like the 6 speed, but nothing like just putting your foot to the floor and constantly being in the power band with no shifting losses in high hp cars.
