Hello everyone!

Since forced induction is getting popular for the 350z and people are constantly looking for a good shop I figured I would post this. As most people know, GRD is a fairly well known 350z/G35 tuner shop in the Great Lakes area. Well, yesterday I made the drive/tow from Horicon Wisconsin down to Naperville Illinois with my car to have them do some small things to it. Here are my impressions:

First off, in Wisconsin I am used to seeing performance shops with larger facilities. So to say the least when I first say the building that GRD is in I was stunned because of how small it appears. However, after I went in and looked around all I can say is wow! They have tons of high quality parts and a well setup shop (I believe there was 4 lifts in there). I was really amazed at their setup for such a small place.
My second impression was of the staff. I have been dealing with Irshad for quite some time, however, he was not in for the day so I delt with Taun. All I have to say is that Taun knows his Z's. Taun was able to present me with a ton of technical info and was very helpful. I also delt with one of their salesmen, Bill. Bill was very nice and helped me out with any other questions I had. Over all, I was very pleased with the service and the overall quality and capabilities of the shop.
Basically I think this is a great shop that, as most are aware of, knows a lot about 350z's and G35's. Taun even said that next weekend when I go to pick my car up I can drive their twin turbo G35 or 350z if weather permits. If the weather permits I will be sure to post something about the cars and how they felt.

After dealing with Tuan and Irshad for the last four years in the VW/Audi, Subaru, and now VQ35 markets, I can honestly say they are a great bunch of guys. It doesn't hurt either that Tuan is one of the best tuners in the country, if not THE best. (My .02)

 

Excellent to hear your impressions on GRD. I'm driving 27 hours in April to get my APS single turbo installed by them.
