Turbo Install DONE plus other goodies! I need help on a few things though!
Ok just one word : WOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!
I had understimated what a TT would feel like. Man its SICK. I actually felt a little **** coem out LOL Nah just kidding.
Car came back with:
Greddy TT Kit
Greddy FMIC
HKS BOV
Seibon CF Hood (Stock Look)
Stoptech Stage 2 brake upgrade!
Polished Turbo Kit
Polished plenum
It feels awesome. Guys its almost midnight and came to my folks to borrow their computer since I have a few questions that are troubling me.
Problem #1:
The installer said that while tunning he realised my car is unique in the sense that the idle is way to jumpy and iradical. That problem was from before but now worse with the turbo. What could we do for this? This is a 2004 1/2 Z.
Problem #2:
Beleive it or not it is running way to LEAN. It was left at about 60% of fuel and still idle is bounsy as heck.
Problem #3:
There is a slight detonation present at high rpm or high boost.
Problem #4:
Car ocassionally stalls when coming to a stop.
Any input on this on how to fix it would be of great help. Installer claims that the 2004 1/2 + models are weird in the idle area to get them correct.
We will be getting an air/fuel gauge next week so he can see exactly what the car is doing then.
Anyone encountered this issues? My other mods are NISMO exhaust, JWT flywheel and clutch, UR main pulley.
They did the tunning with a basic laptop. Should i have them try again with a fuel pump (aftermarket one) and a gauage or should i go to a specialised tunner? Would tunning fix this stalling/detonating?

It sounds like a recipe for another blown motor with a Greddy kit.
Need lots of info....
How many pounds of boost?
Stock fuel pump?
Injector size?
AFR on the dyno?
Dyno #'s?
What piggyback is Greddy using EB or EU?
My car has the 440 injectors, and it idles perfectly.

The stock fuel pump is inadequate. You need a Walbro fuel pump.
Don't drive it until you get to a dyno and get a real tune.... preferably a load based dyno like a DynoDynamics or a Mustang Dyno.
How do you know it's boosting 5.5?????

My car has many of the same problems... It doesn't idle very well, and it will stall when I come to a stop.... I thought it was the cams, but maybe it's the greddy kit... I took my car to the nissan dealer to bump up the idle with the Consult, but my car would not accept it. I guess the next step is a reflash, I think the car is trying to auto-learn at idle and it just keeps compensating....we keep adding fuel with the UTEC and the car keeps leaning itself out!
Good luck with everything....I'm in the same boat
p.s. It took four months to get my car back....

If it was tuned for the base boost the stock pump is fine if you go up then the pump will be needed.
Your idle issue and stalling at stops can be taken care of by raising the idle by the dealer or with a Cypher, we do it on some to bring it up to around 800 and it idles smooth.
Dyno charts would help.

I highly doubt the shop installing it actually tuned it. They need to go in the emanage ASAP on a dyno and add fuel in. If it's running LEAN and detonating, don't even drive in boost until the issues are taken care of!
as for stalling at idle...tighten the screw on the BOV. That might help.

TUNE! yeah you need a good tune and an upgraded fuel pump with a AFR gauge. do you have a boost gauge??
also as somebody previously stated, next step is a reflash. Goodluck

I spoke with Shariff. Thanks a million to him. He refered me to what he considers the best tuner in socal and I will be going in tomorrow morning.
Yes Im not really going into boost and yes I will have tomorrow a new pump, harness, dyno/tune, and issues fixed. Shariff's friend said this issues he has seen before in badly tuned cars and that I shouldnt worry he could fix it but to stay away from the car for right now till tomorrow.
Guys im happy Shariff came to the rescue as well as I would liek to thank Performance Nissans Andy and Tony who have stayed on my back every second of the way even on their own personal time.
