the APS fuel system that comes with the TT kit using the walboro pump they supply would never be able to maintain pressure to 700+ on a dynojet. I think there is no chance that this car would make more power on a dynojet 248, I think it would make quite a bit less. not to mention, i have doubts that the 650cc injectors would support 700rwhp at the fuel pressure that APS runs with their kit supplied regulator

The 650 injectors actually still have a lot of room to go, and the car is still rich... Doubt all you will

I THINK the cars running two walbros, I'll ask today.

And no, it would not read less, we have dynoed cars on Teds dynamometer, and then on A dynoJet 248, and the cars dynoed more on the dynojet.

right on... if there is more to it then was posted then i believe it. doing the math on the boost level and what not it seems to add up power wise, i am just seeing physical limitations of the components listed being exceeded.

Yeah there is deff more then what is listed there...

Also, in another thread you can see a video of Marin VS. a built/stroked/supercharged 93' Cobra. At the time The Z was running a 9.0:1 AFR and was not hitting the 715rwhp mark.. You can see the Cobra baaaarely INCH forward, the Cobra was making 680rwhp. So the dyno seems to be inline with that, just as reference. Again, the Z was un-tuned in that race.

Impressive number you got there yourself, at just 14psi. Wernt you making more a while ago at a bit more boost?

Also, don't you have MR2 experiance as well? I can't remember if you own one or not?

With a single 255, how are you getting 700whp+ worth of fuel, as they start dropping pressure at just 550whp or so, and if you really push it...maybe 600whp or so.

i only half agree with this.

my fuel pressure was still rock solid at the power i was making.

it depends on your fuel system. Most guys are running a fuel system that uses the stock plastic output fitting that clips onto the fuel pump. Those fittings are TINY.

The guys running our Stage II fuel system have been able to get well over 600rwhp with a single walboro, but this is only after almost the entire feed is half inch in size, and the smallest part is a -6... versus the near -3 restriction in the fuel system you had on your car undoubtably when you noticed these drops in fuel pressure.

the most i have ever seen out of a single GSS342 walbro 255 was Jotech, who made 678 dynojet rwhp with the fuel pressure falling off hard with my S2 system.... which is the highest flowing setup i have seen anyone put on any 350z.

The part where I do agree with you, is that there is no way this guy is getting 715+ (and claiming it would be much more on a dynojet) rwhp out of a single walbro, especially with only the APS standard TT kit fuel system.

Did you have a fuel pressure gauge inside the car to observe while making your runs? As you and I both know, every car is going to be a little different. What I observed was a flutter in the fuel pressure towards redline, and then a rapid drop at the last second. Even with a pressure drop, you can tune around it to some degree...but 715whp+ is not going to happen with a single Walbro...that we both agree on.

With my Stage II system, the only thing the Walbro will be doing, is keeping the surge tank full....but -8 direct to the rail.

i raced a 725rwhp cobra and was inching away from him. Obviously the Cobra must not have been running correctly during the race. Comparing the results of a street race dont really tell you much about power output. Trap Speeds at the track while considering 60 foot times is probably the most accurate way to compare.

As for the MR2 stuff, yes I have built many MR2s... one of them recently made 528rwhp on new load based dynojet w/ 93 octane fuel

My 14 psi dyno numbers are higher then average because my car has a full standalone engine management, allowing for the most precise tuning. Not many guys are doing that yet with the Z, but all the guys who are.. are having great results as well.

No you got me on that... however I can look at my fuel tables in my FCON and tell you that I am very very confident fuel pressure was not falling off. I mean you gotta give me one thing, The feed side upgrades I do are going to reduce flow resistence for the pump.... in the same way that larger IC piping would effect a turbo car.

Found this while going through an old thread of Marin's:

I know there's more i just cant think of it now...

You guys missed one key thing in his mod list. He runs methanol injection. So when talking about the fuel requirements of this car you have to remember that he is probably injecting a ****load of methanol. That is the missing link. Methanol=

I suppose some resitrictor was removed from the Walbro pump... Maybe Ted can get on here and shed some light.

Regardless of what it has, the car is making 715.1 rwhp @ 8,000 rpm, period.

Like I said, I have seen cars dyno less on Teds dyno then they did on a Dynojet, which leads us to think the Z would in turn, make more on a dynojet as well... If you put two and two together.. Also, no one said WAY more on a dynojet..

ehh... if its got more then one fuel pump ill be sold... otherwise sorry i talked to someone today who told me their customers car dynoed insanely higher numbers on a dastek then it did on a dynojet shortly after. time will tell when this guy gets his car to the track.

dynojets show 13% higher numbers than a dynanometer which means that the 715.1 whp on a dynanometer would equal to 808.06wp on a dynojet.

However the dynanometer has an output setting that is about the same as a dynojet, If they gave you that number than the dynanometer would be about 13% less than the 715 but 715 would be esseantial the same as the dynojet numbers...
When Brainstorm who uses the same dyno gives me my sheets they usually give me both the dynanometer and the dynojetish ones...

either way great numbers

A customer of mine dynoed on Ted's Dastek dyno at 460whp'ish, and dynoed the same week at 380whp on Rob's dynojet. Phunk, are we talking about the same person?

Yeah and I also watched a Modded Cobra dyno 480rwhp on a dynojet for the first pass of the day, then after about 10 other cars went, he dynoed again on the same dyno and hit 530rwhp. Same day, just a little time between... Some dynojets are very inconsistant. Teds dyno will give you near the same number, every time.

My friends Turbo s2k and 300zx tt dynoed on both a dynojet and teds dynamometer, I'll have to ask them their number for each..

Oh and btw phunk, nice numbers from that duece I'm looking for bwteeen 550-620 rwhp on mine when completed.
