ATTN: Voretch Owners HELP Needed
My buddy and I finally finished installing the vortech kit tonite.
We installed RC 440 injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump and the vortech tuner kit.
We start the car, and there is an EAR PIERCING SQUEAL. It sounds as if it it would be a belt, so we disconnected the supercharger belt, so there was just the main belt, and the car still made the squeal. Also, the engine bay smells like fuel but I am pretty sure there is no leak. The injectors seemed like they were well seated, and the fuel rail was on @ss tight, and there is no fuel leaking from what I can see. Maybe the smell is there because I just installed everything? Or becuase the car is untuned?
The squeal is incredibly loud, like there is no way it could be a belt. I talked to a mechanic I know and he cant figure it out.
What could the noise possibly be?
I looked all over the place, and the belt is tight, and doesn't rub anything that I can see. PLZ HELP guys!! TIA

Normally the squeel will go away in a few sec's if the serp belt is to loose . I would start by checking the alignment of the bracket . Then I would check to see that no IC pipe is resting up against the AC pulley , jackshft cog pulley , and in front of the motor , on any of the pulleys up there
Ok,
I rechecked the pully, and absolutly nothing comes anywhere near it, it wasnt rubbing. I decided to take it off and the squeal was gone, thank god.
I can fix that by playing with the alignment and/or tightening it.
Now about the fuel smell. Will this go away? Im getting worried because I dont want anything to catch fire
I know the car will run rich with them, esp at cold start, but damn it smells like there could be a leak. Is this normal for new fuel setup guys? Thanks

Mine smelt like gas also . Found it was the rubber o-ring gasket , for the gas tank cover . Did you buy a new one ? When it gets gas on it , it expands and will not go back in the slot . Besides that , just check all your fuel line connections
there are 2 belts that can be adjusted. one driver side and one passenger side. i had the belt squeel as well. i adjusted the adjuster on the driver side and it did nothing, then found out there is a way to adjust another belt from the front of the car between the engine and radiator. more on the passenger side. be sure to losen the bolt in the middle of the pulley and you can tighten it up by turning it clockwide. then tighten up the bolt in the middle of the pulley again. be sure to losen this bolt first or you'll bend the adjuster system and have to buy a new one.

Can you tell me how loud your squeal was? Mine was loud enough that if I left the car on for more than 5-10 seconds someone would most likely call the cops

You can put that cog pulley on and not even know you have it on backwards . Well come to think about it , if you put the cog on backwards and tightened the bolt tight [ with the belt off ] you wouldnt be able to turn the cog pulley or it would be very hard to

Ok, I got everything running great now. In case anyone else has this problem, the belt was a tad loose and now its very tight to where I can barely bend the belt to the side (45-90 degrees or so)
