Default vortech injectors question

I was wondering if just installing the 380 injectors, same as the turbonetics kit uses, would be of any advantage with the stock fuel and vortech fmu setup. I dont want to spend a pile of cash right now and saw a set of 380's for 250.00. I know the duty cycle of th 380 would be better than stock, but is this gonna change my fuel pressure over the stock ones? Also do the 380's just drop right in without any modifications/harnesses? TIA

I'm currently running the 3.12 pulley with the 380cc + fmu/ inline fuel pump and my duty cycles are around 70%. If u want to keep your fmu and aux pump then the 380cc will be good to around 400s. How safe it is to run that high of a fuel pressure, I don't really know. I have even heard of ppl running stock injectors with fmu/inline pump and pushing 390s but I'm sure the oem injectors are at the max by then.

If you are using the Vortech kit straight out of the box with no other upgrades the stock injectors are fine. You shouldn't spend extra money on injectors unless you are planning on going with big horsepower numbers down the road.

On the older Vortech kits , they use a 8 to1 FMU . The newer ones they used 6 to 1 FMU's . SO depending on what FMU you have 380's will work pretty good . I would still have the ECU flashed for the 380's to run idle and start up only . Then tune it with the SS box or what ever EMU you have .
Its hard to tell what whp level the stock Vortech kits and stock injectors will hold safely . We have such a wide range of whp numbers from different dyno's . I have 425whp and 338trq. on a mustang dyno @14psi [ NO correction to ANY other dyno numbers ] . Guys are reporting getting more whp on half the psi [ 7 to 8 psi ] on different dyno's . From what Ive been told , you dont want to go so big on injectors that you are reducing the stock injector pulse width more the 40% .
