in the fuel map, the base map is 10's across the board i believe, how do you add fuel, do you go up in numbers or lower in numbers ?
basically, lower numbers more fuel or lower numbers less fuel ?

Yes it is a different way of tuning, the number is an adjustment to the stock MAF signal so you don't normally just go up in the number to give it more fuel because the signal is already going up. if you start off at 10 then you should go down gradually to whatever number gives you a good AF at redline and in between should be a gradual change. I know it confused me so I am probably not explaining it right.
If you are doing this at stock boost then you are OK but if you change the pulley you run out of MAF signal and tough to tune before exceeding the MAF voltage.

More fuel leads to MAF Saturation . How so..Thanks

It is not about feul but voltage. At lower rpms it is not a problem but at higher rpms, too high of a number will allow the MAf voltage to reach its maximum output.Once this happen the ECU will not add anymore fuel and at this point your MAF it maxed out.

I'm assuming the question is in relation to tuning on a dyno..The way I remember my car being tuned with the r4 was to change the fuel system cell map at the discrete rpm/boost cells (wot-open loop) to values below 10 (since the stock S.S. map is rich.) and monitor the o2 via sniffer to you get to around 11-11.5 ...Not sure why the original thread other than a general question in which case if he is trying to modfiy the map without benefit or effect on AF than the cautionary note is correct...You shouldn't be adding fuel w/o an O2 to monitor..

I would still be looking into why all of a sudden your A/F went up by it self FIRST !!!!!! . Just going in and adding fuel may solve the A/F , but the reason why it went up in the first place will still be there . Or maybe you did find the problem ?
If you wanna try to richen it up . You have to be able to data log the A/F and rpms to be able to see where the changes need to be made . trying to do it with out is VERY hit and miss ,, and a waste of time and effort . In the R4....as soon as rpm's pass [ say ] 4500rpm's ,, it reading the next cell at 5000rpm's... the same with boost . And changes of [ .2 or .3 ] will make a good enough change to see a difference in the A/F at that boost and rpm level .
