Calculator for how much timing to be pulled ?
backagain
you only had a TOTAL of 4.5 degree's of timing pulled for 8 and 8.5psi , and only 5.5 retard for 9 and 9.5psi . This is on a stock block , so it wasnt safe at all . I broke a ringland with about the same retard . I started to retard timing in his map at 4psi . A little at a time with each .5psi rise in boost . SO at 8psi he has a total of 6.5 degrees of retard....7 degrees at 8.5psi....7.5 at 9psi ....8.5 at 9.5psi . This is a safe step timing .
Now dont boost it any more till you get the A/F tuned

The SS box has 4 auxiliary inputs and the R4 software can record them. I bet there is a way we can run the output of your LC1 into the SS box and log it with the R4 software. I mean it is just a 0 - 5 Volt linear signal, and I know the volt to air fuel conversion formula.

uh oh, if this is true then we might be in business
, i searched through the manual for the SS box but didnt show how to hook it up. we'll look at it tonight if you arent busy tut.

If i recall, doesnt the stock vortech map tune timing via rpm. 1 2 4 6 10 starting at 4000 or 5000 rpm?
Boog, is it better to tune via boost on timing?
Yes it does ....it starts at 5000rpm . When you retard timing via boost you can do it much more gradually with every .5psi . With it done via rpm , it has to be done every 500rpm . WHich results in a big dip in power and trq. that can be easily seen on a dyno graph
I sent you an email Ray . I would call SplitSecond and ask them if one of the inputs will except it . You'll know for sure that way . I know I talked to them a long time ago about it . And the only thing I can remember about the conversation was that they could custom make a box to data log what you wanted

You got a pic of that timing map you can upload for me to look at?
Im considering retuning the timing map from the stock one.
