Default Oil pan spacer ????

I have been having trouble with my blower [ loud whine ] and I want to check to make sure the shop installed the spacer for the oil pick up with my oil pan spacer . Im thinking if the pick up spacer isnt there and the oil pick up is sitting higher than it should , that it starving the motor and blower of oil when I get into the gas and oil is forced to the back of the pan .

How close to the bottom of the lower oil pan should the oil pick up be ?

I want to eliminate ever possible cause and this is just a shot in the dark , but I want to make sure
THANKS Bill

Yes but the easiest way to tell is to look and see if there is a spacer sandwhiched between the pickup and the oil channel leading into the block(I dont know the name of this) but its self explanitory. I assume you'll be dropping the pan? Its a messy job, not hard just takes a little while removing all that gasket maker...and btw the pickup from what I recall sat close to the bottom of the lower pan.

The SHop used Permatex [ red stuff ] and it comes off pretty easy . Used the wire wheel on the bench grinder to take off what I could scrape off . It came off the spacer real easy
