Is it cold? Do you have Cats? In cold mine smokes like carzy, but its just the weather and no cats i assume. Down here it's rarely cold so it never happens.

You just might have an oil leak in your turbo. Blown seal or something.. This is due to improper oil drainage hose setup. Search for white smoke. JETPILOT just had the same issue I believe and he got his turbo replaced.

Yeah considering your car was warmed up and then smoking... Something is up, white smoke coming out when first starting the car or in cold weather common.

But you could have something going on, like JET did.

no, it couldn't have been the weather. (55 degrees today) I was driving for at least 45 minutes-1 hr. When I brought it home and put it in my garage, closed the overhead door, smoke filled up the whole garage. Sometimes it will go away, but when it starts smoking it is very heavy.

Do a compression and leak down to confirm your engine. Otherwise, it is likely related to your oil return line, or a defective turbo from the factory.

Not necessarily. The TN kits work fine if you tap oil pan spacers, or the upper oil pan directly. I would just check the return line, make sure its not kinked or otherwise obstructing flow. The fact that it ran fine for 300miles, and then started smoking, is probably indicative of a defective turbo, improper oil level (did you recently do an oil change or overfill your crankcase?), or a damaged engine.

If you are billowing white smoke you are blowing oil past the turbo seal. Please verify your oil drain location is above the oil level in the pan and that its run correctly... If all that is correct call Reggie tomorrow and he can overnight you a new turbo.

I'm not blowing white smoke but I am smoking a little bit from the exhaust at idle, non-cat version. I'm also smelling oil whenever I boost.

Did compression test (ok).Checked oil return line and even took it off everything fine.Yes i did install the kit like 4 months ago never got to drive it do to winter. Took out 2 months ago for test drive and was over boosting 12.5 pounds so i had to wait for overboost pipe.Installed overboost pipe and still was getting 10.5 so i called turbonetics and they sent me 2 wastegate springs.Calling them up today they have been really good so far with those other problems. Sucks though can't even enjoy my car.Smoking bad.

MIA, on the Greddy kits and the TN kits we isntall with the AAM oil pan spacer, or JWT oil pan spacer, the drain line is definately below the oil level, since werent tapping near the lower pan, and not in the upper pan. I think AAM cleared this prodecure with someone at TN, and its doesnt seem to be a problem with the Greddy kits either. Is oil return fitting location critical, or did I miss something?

As far as the designer of the kit is concerned it is absolutely critical and should always be in the upper pan. That being said I know plenty of people that tapped the spacer with great success. In theory (and proper practice) the drain should ALWAYS be above the oil level. But thats theory. The real world shows us that spacer is ok.
